biotène Oral Rinse Mouthwash for Dry Mouth, Breath Freshener and Dry Mouth Treatment, Fresh Mint - 33.8 fl oz

I have very dry mouth and cannot get to sleep without this stuff. I take a small swig at night, swirl, and spit. Sorry for the expectoration image, but, well, those are the directions. This coats my mouth. Now I can fall asleep without my mouth nagging me. It's got xylitol in it, so there's a bit of a nice sweet flavor. It has a great minty taste as well. My husband appreciates that. It has no burn like regular mouthwash, which contain alcohol and thus actually dry out your mouth. Part of its mechanism of action is to moisturize the tissue of the mouth in order to help it retain water, so it's a bit more than just temporary relief. Glycerin is one of the ingredients used. They make a spray as well, which is nice to take on-the-go, but I don't think it works as well. And you have to pull it out in public like you're freshening your breath in expectation of flirting with a stranger in the hopes he kisses you. Just doesn't have the right optics, you know?! Kinda 90s smarmy. But no love lost--the rinse is fantastic.

I get really dry mouth from my medication and I brush my teeth and swish my mouth with this mouthwash every day and it helps significantly. On days I forget to swish, I can really tell the difference. It has a really pleasant light minty taste that doesn’t have that burning alcohol feeling. I like this mouthwash so much that I actually switched to this brand’s toothpaste as well, which tastes the same and still leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh.

This mouthwash does seem to help for a bit and the flavor is very nice it isn’t too harsh. It has a flip-cap with a hole that you squeeze the mouthwash out of. I would like this product better if it lasted longer, as i do still wake up with dry mouth. although i am a mouth breather, and during the day i have no issues with it - it helps my dry mouth.

It works! I get a dry-mouth problem (due to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome). When it happens, I must sip water every few minutes or it’s the sahara desert. Makes it impossible to sleep, every 5 minutes waking up for water…and the resulting trips to the bathroom. My dentist told me about this. It’s a lifesaver. I have to remember to bring the portable version when traveling. It says to put an ounce or so in your mouth and spit it out without rinsing. I just sip a tiny bit, and I’m done.

Have been using this regularly for about five weeks. Purchase was made on my dentists recommendation as a remedy for dry mouth at night. I don’t measure an exact quantity each night. I just squirt it in my mouth, hopefully an amount close to the recommended usage rate. As an attempt to measure effectiveness, I have skipped using this on a few occasions. In my case, product is not a 100% cure, but does provide some clear relief. I will probably continue to purchase in future.

I live in a dry climate and my first visit to the dentist was a disaster! My mouth had been so dry from the climate and a medication I was taking that I ended up needing a lot of dental work done. The dentist said it was from the dryness, and they suggested I try it. I started using a water pik, and at night, every time I got up to use the bathroom or woke up, I rinsed my mouth with this. My next dental visit, I got A+++ and my dentist couldn't believe it. In addition to the rinse I used the gum picks and floss twice a day, but they said I no longer needed to use the water pik. I wish it was a bit cheaper but it's definitely worth the $$$

Als E-Dampfer hat man öfter einen trockenen Mund, wogegen viel Trinken natürlich am besten hilft. Aber gegen das Aufwachen mit ausgetrockneten Mund hilft es nicht und dafür hatte ich diese Mundspülung geholt. Sie schmeckt stark nach Süßstoff und hat eine etwas schleimige Konsistenz. Darüber hätte ich noch hinweggesehen. Allerdings hat sie weder bei Tag noch bei Nacht je eine spürbare Wirkung gehabt.

I drink water throughout the night because my throat gets very dry. This mouthwash helped me sleep undisturbed after a long time!
