I bought RAWZ rabbit cat food to use for my ferret Draco and it’s been amazing. The quality is obvious right away — real meat, no junk fillers, and clean ingredients you can actually feel good about feeding. Draco absolutely loves it and eats it enthusiastically every time. His energy is great, his coat looks healthy, and I can tell it agrees with him really well. It’s hard to find truly high quality food that works for ferrets, and this one has been a huge win for us. Great ingredients, great quality, and worth every penny. Only the best for my Draco. Great nutrition is basically love in edible form. 🐾

So, I never write reviews. Actually, I have never written a review. But without going on like a crazy cat obsessed person that I have become in the last 5 years of becoming a cat mom to two lynx point siamese cats (Boy & Girl Ages 4 & 5 who have been eating this since I got them at 5-9 month old kittens)... I can give you a summary of why I choose and continue to choose this food. 1. NUTRITION. I decided to EXTENSIVELY research food & prolonged life. Just like people, what you eat matters. And this food has no MEAL or CHICKEN BY-PRODUCT. It is GRAIN FREE. You want high quality meats, and no fillers, or as little as possible. Grains are used as fillers. I went on Reviews.com-- looked up info on all cat foods, RATINGS, RECALLS, DIET ANALYSIS BY SCIENTISTS... ect. This one passed with its all natural ingredients. 2. YOU CAN FEEL GOOD. It is a small privately owned company. They do not cut corners. Though it is on the expensive side, it's worth it! You know exactly what your getting. The purpose of RAWZ (after taxes and reserve) is to donate 100% of the profits to: A) Providing Service Dogs B) Spinal Cord Injury Support C) Traumatic Brain Injury Support. So, you know that no mega company is lining their pockets, and by feeding your cat THE BEST FOOD POSSIBLE, you are simultaneously SUPPORTING PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP. Getting While GIVING BACK, with NO EFFORT! 3. MY CATS LOVE THE TASTE. I feed them wet, twice a week for dinner. BUT, as far as dry food goes... THEY LOVE THIS! Sometimes I feel "bad" they have to eat the same thing everyday for months and months to no avail... so I mix in a second brand 2:1 ratio. Let me tell you... My female cat PICKS OUT THE RAWZ ONLY. She leaves "every other kibble" It takes her 5x as long... but no matter which brand I have mixed in... She REFUSES IT, unless she has skipped a meal, because The male has glomed her portion. Why have I always done a 2:1 ratio? because the Crude Protein, Crude Fat, or Crude Fiber contents in other foods have been lower or too high. And finding the correct balance is important, and I want to jazz it up (and occasionally have with two other 2nd & 3rd place "comparable brands") but I don't want them to suffer nutritionally. And AFTER DISCOVERING THEY PREFER THE RAWZ.... why bother? They LOVE IT SO MUCH. 4. Their POOP DOESN'T STINK to high hell on this! (But it still smells... it's a cat after all) While jazzing it up a few times... I realized "Wow... Their poop smells on this different foods" This food is a good option! 5. It's NEVER BEEN RECALLED! I FEEL SAFE GIVING IT TO MY CATS! Obviously you can tell I'm a crazy cat lady. It's clear. It's also clear, I love to research and learn. It's MOST important that if you combine the two, you can see I LOVE MY CATS. I'm a cat mom, and I want what's best for them. I WANT THEM TO LEAD HEALTHY LIVES UNTIL THEY ARE 16 YEARS OLD. To be with me as long as possible, healthy and happy. So, when I did my research, I was like: NO BRAINER! They Deserve the BEST!! What's also clear is an extensively LONG REVIEW. WHY? I have OCD. (Hence all my research) Haha! But, What's in it for me? WELL, NOTHING. Except, I got to kill some time. It's Covid-19. I'm BORED. ALSO, I recently fell and injured my lower back at the base of my spine SO... I'm IN PAIN and looking to distract myself: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I realized "I will be out of cat food soon, let me order more." And then I figured I'd write a review in the process. But, It's NOT A PAID REVIEW. (I Wish!-- Though I hate the Idea of People participating in those in the first place. Deceitful.) And IT'S NOT PROMOTIONAL. (I'm not getting anything in return.) Hopefully I was able to help possibly guide a new cat owner, or re-direct an experienced cat owner into something better. Or just provide info. Also I have ordered from this particular owner multiple times now. It's gone well.

Top quality freeze dried raw cat food.

My cats love this food! It's also a much healthier food that traditional kibble. Great company, who gives 100% of profits to pet charities and shelters. But the price is almost $10 more than anywhere else. Buy the food and support the company, but shop around first. You might be able to find it locally a lot cheaper.

Everyone who complains this 3.5 lb bag of food for $32 is expensive obviously hasn’t spent literally SEVERAL HOURS of their life researching and standing in the pet supply stores reading every bag of cat food to see you’ll pay $40+ for junk for 3.5 lbs . This is the first “raw” food made into a tiny kibble and also is ALL LIFE STAGES! Dehydrated food IS A TYPE OF RAW FOOD - because it can be reconstituted (just may take longer than freeze dried food) , it is generally processed at low heat for a long time to draw out or evaporate any moisture out of the food. Dehydrated at higher temperatures foods are not considered completely raw, but very lightly cooked as the moisture is removed. If it’s dehydrated at too high of a temperature then it’s considered cooking and denatures many of these nutrients including delicate enzymes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, affecting the nutrition of the product. So: AIR DRIED KIBBLE WITHOUT HEAT IS INCREDIBLY HEALTHY FOR YOUR PET. I have 4 cats - two are kittens. The oldest cat ( 3 years old) has issues with urinary crystals as of this year. There are no Urinary Tract Health cat foods for All Life Stages and the BEST one out there out of all of them is the Simply Nourish Natural Solutions Urinary Tract Health Recipe, it has the BEST INGREDIENTS and lowest mineral percentages you’ll find and minimal carbohydrates: but you still need to add 20% water to ANY DRY KIBBLE for ANY CAT YOU FEED! Cats are whole prey carnivores so they need to have water in their food otherwise they stay mildly dehydrated and minerals in the urine concentrate causing crystals/blockages. My cats don’t like to eat differently from each other so the past month of trying to get one cat to eat a special food and telling the kittens they can’t have it - was a nightmare! The cat who needed the food didn’t want it AND the kittens who need the high protein of their kitten food wanted the Urinary Tract Health specialty food that couldn’t meet their nutritional requirements. My cats are not fans of freeze dried raw food like Stella and Chewys… and now here we are eating Rawz Cat food. On the first day of feeding not one of the 4 cats turned a nose up to Rawz. Everyone loved it - all the bowls were licked clean!!!! I don’t serve straight from the bag- I do add water and let it sit about 5 minutes before feeding the cats. Look below to see how I am feeding. To treat and prevent urinary crystals while using Rawz , I feed the older boys : 1/4 cup Rawz kibble x2 a day : I add 2 tablespoons of hot water to 1/4 teaspoon apple cider vinegar with the mother into 1/4 cup of Rawz Cat food Kibble before feeding each serving. I also feed supplement treats before setting food: Vetriscience Renal Essentials Feline x1 treat twice a day and get naked Biteables Functional Cat Soft Treats Land and Sea Essential Health x3 treats twice a day. There is also two water stations in the home: one in the kitchen that is like a fountain and one in the bathroom that is like a water cooler.

Update to 1st Review: 1) If you could just make the pieces bigger...another line (so those who like the small pieces can still buy them) with bigger pieces... 2) Adjust the price so it is in line with your canned food price, although it is expensive, too, because you only get 18 cans instead of the usual 24. 3) Sell sample packs of both your canned and dry foods. Original Review. This food is much smaller pieces than the picture. I am very disappointed. I need bigger pieces. My cat has trouble eating small pieces. I will give it a 4 because it is healthy food, but it still smells like most dry cat food I have bought. It is also a cute, little bag. But, it's too expensive for the amount of less than 2 lbs. But, if my cat would have eaten it, I would have bought more. All the profits go to charity, but what about some charity (lower prices) to the people trying to feed their pets healthy food? So glad I didn't buy the bigger bag, since my cat won't eat it. It would be nice if pet food companies would sell samples. Some of us are in pet food desserts where there are no specialty stores just for pets, where there might - just might - be samples for purchase. So, we have to rely on the big companies that ship. So, my search for healthy, dry, cat food, in large pieces continues...

The bag arrived ripped and was sitting out in the sun for 10 hours in the Amazon packaging. It was still in the Amazon bag so I thought it might be salvagable. My cat at first seemed to not mind the taste, so I figured it was fine. Fast forward and she is still preferring her bargain brand over it. I tried to introduce her slowly as you are suppose to do with cats and new foods over a 2-3 week period. I would mix the two together (her IAMS chicken and Raw) but she did not fail to pick out her old food consistently and leave the Raw product behind. I tried to call for a refund but alas it is not eligible. My cat has only eaten 1/5 of the bag and I've come to the conclusion she has no interest in eating the rest. She eats it last every time and have not noticed her touching the dry food bowel at all in the last two weeks (I've also been trying to switch her to a wet food diet because she has cancer). Even when she doesn't eat her wet, she still will avoid the dry. I placed her old food out as a comparison; she will eat the dry if it is her old IAMs even with the wet food. One star review for poor customer service and a damaged product on arrive. 3/5 star for food taste and smell. On paper it is a much better brand than IAMs and most supermarket brands. However, my cat hated it. It might have had something to do with it sitting outside, but it was protected directly from the sun by the Amazon packaging, so not entirely convinced you could get a picky cat to eat it. Toodles!

Meal in this very expensive cat food. I usually order the chicken and turkey flavors which have no meal product in them. So I trusted this product doesn’t. However the first ingredient is rabbit meal. You don’t pay $70 for a bag of cat food that has meal in It. Will not be buying this flavor again.
