Toasts both sides of bread/English muffins very evenly, with a golden brown. I'm very happy with this toaster oven.

I kept this toaster oven after looking at several because its door operation feels durable and when I pick it up (it doesn’t live on my counter) it has the “right” heft. It’s a toaster oven and works so far, but that’s pretty baseline, no? There are two BIG detractors for this model. One. The rack doesn’t fit snugly between the guides and has a tendency to tip if pulled out too far. NO GOOD. Two. The pan started to rust after the first soak. It’s not aluminum or stainless but some kind of coated mild steel. Between these two I regret my choice every time I use it. I’m not one to throw away leftovers much less the cost of a few meals, but am debating whether to give this to goodwill and find something else.
