Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy – Watermelon Flavor – A Perfect Boost!
I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy as my go-to pre-workout for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed! Here’s why:Amazing Taste:The Watermelon flavor is absolutely delicious! I’ve tried a lot of pre-workouts in the past, and this one stands out in terms of taste. It’s refreshing and fruity without being too sweet or overpowering. Definitely a treat to look forward to before my workouts.Energy Boost:This pre-workout gives me a clean and sustained energy boost thanks to the Green Tea and Green Coffee Extract. I feel energized without the jittery crash that some other products give me. It’s perfect for both early morning workouts and mid-day training sessions when I need that extra kick.Supports My Keto Lifestyle:As someone who follows a keto-friendly diet, I appreciate that this product fits into my routine without any guilt. It helps me power through my workouts without kicking me out of ketosis, which is a huge bonus.BCAAs & Amino Acids:The addition of BCAAs and Amino Acids is a major plus. I feel like I’m getting that extra support for muscle recovery, which has been helping me push harder in my workouts while reducing muscle soreness afterward.Convenient and Effective:With 30 servings in the container, it’s great value for the price. Plus, I love that it mixes easily with water—no clumps or weird texture, just smooth, refreshing flavor every time.

Works great, flavor confusion
I really love how the product makes me feel… It delivers a nice boost of energy without making me feel intense or jittery. But I have struggled to find the right flavor. The Concord Grape tastes great, but it has lots of blue/red dye and stains plastic cups purple. The new citrus spritz is clear in color (great) but tastes a lot like grapefruit. I was hoping for a orange/lemon flavor. And don’t get me started on the stupid tiny scoop they place inside the half empty container. It gets lost in the powder. I tape the scoop to the outside of the container (see photo of grape flavor).

Cost cutting measures and a lack of quality packaging or negatives
I've been using ON Amino Energy drink in various flavors for about three years now. Works really well to keep me alerts and attentive during the work dayTwo issues though. You've shrunk the size of the scoop by about 50% (I assume it's a cost cutting measure, because it isn't a question of fitting in the container) and now I have to go digging around for it more so than the bigger scoop. Now I have powder on my heads and counterSecond, what's with the super duper difficult lid to get off? I've worked with my hands for years so I'm not weak, but I actually sliced my fingertips on the lid trying to unscrew a brand new container.

Love this flavor!
I used to love this flavor but they stopped selling it in certain stores. I was excited to purchase when I found it online!

Longer scoops might be back
Grape has always been my favorite flavor. Been ordering for years. For the past year or two, they switched to smaller stem scoops. So I've been recycling one of the older long scoops. This week I got a new one with the MFD date of 2025.01.05. It came with the longer scoop. Hopefully it stays.

Great Energy Boost, But Artificial Dyes Are a Drawback
I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy in Blue Raspberry for a few weeks as a pre-workout, and overall, it’s a solid product that delivers on its promises. Here’s my take after trying it consistently:Performance: This powder gives a smooth, sustained energy boost without the jitters I’ve experienced with other pre-workouts. The mix of caffeine (from green tea and green coffee extract) and amino acids helps me power through workouts and stay focused. I also appreciate the BCAAs for muscle recovery, especially after intense sessions. The 30-serving tub is convenient and lasts a decent amount of time.Taste and Mixability: The Blue Raspberry flavor is enjoyable—sweet but not overpowering. It mixes easily in water with no gritty residue, which is a big plus. I use about 16 oz of water per 3 scoops (4 scoops if I want more energy), and it dissolves perfectly.Ingredients Concern: My main hesitation is the inclusion of artificial dyes and sweeteners. While the green tea and green coffee extracts are great, I wish the ingredients were more natural overall. The bright blue color from the dyes feels unnecessary, and I’d prefer a cleaner formula, especially for a product marketed as keto-friendly. This makes me unsure if I’ll repurchase unless they offer a dye-free version.Value: The price is reasonable for 30 servings, especially compared to other pre-workouts with similar ingredients. It’s versatile enough for pre-workout, mid-day energy, or even a study boost, which adds to its value.Final Thoughts: Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy is effective and tastes great, making it a reliable choice for energy and recovery. However, the artificial dyes are a letdown for those prioritizing natural ingredients. If you don’t mind the dyes, it’s worth trying, but I’d love to see a cleaner formula in the future. Four stars for solid performance but room for improvement.
