Tombow57304 MONO Sand Eraser, Silica Eraser Designed to Remove Colored Pencil and Ink Markings

As a budding artist, I am always looking for the best kept secrets of the industry. When I saw this, I immediately purchased it because even if it didn't erase ink, I use several different erasers for different things and can always use a new too in my aresenal.Well, last night I stayed up way too late working on a class assignment worth 40% of my grade. I used a micron in the wrong place and would have had to do the entire project, about 9 hours worth, completely over. Not only did the eraser arrive on time, it came early when I desperately needed it. I prayed it would work and sure enough! It cleaned off ALL of the ink! And, it did not damage the paper so I can easily re-create that part of the drawing. I will be purchasing a two pack just to make sure I have a spare. It will be considered one of my most important tools!

This is so much smaller then what you will expect...but it did work! I was making a craft project with multiple colored gel pens, any mistake on any color erased off. The eraser will sand into the paper so if your using thin paper it might not work well.

I have used this to try to remove some ink marks in a book. I was able to get about 75% of the ink out, but the ink had soaked in deep on the paper. Any more work to remove it would have resulted in the page being torn. That is not the fault of this eraser, but of the ink. It takes time and patience to do ink removal on book pages. This eraser is small, so if you are looking for a larger abrasive eraser, look elsewhere.

These erasers are my absolute favorite for erasing every single trace of pencil or colored pencil. In fairness, I am not heavy handed with my pencils when I draw, sketch or write so I don't really know how well they would do with a large amount of pressure. I also have no idea how they do with ink, since that isn't really what I use them for.But when writing or drawing normally, they remove every single trace of the line that was there. They are very comfortable in my hand to use, and are made of high quality silica. They feel just a little gritty which can be off putting at first, but trust me, that's the secret in how they work. Trust the process.

I have found this eraser to be pretty effective on some things that a normal pencil eraser will not remove.

Initially I liked the idea of being able to erase colored pencil mistakes, but you won't necessarily get all of it before you start seeing the paper shred or lines in the book being erased as well.

I have used these sand erasers for many years but hesitated about the rating only because this particular item is apparently shipped from abroad and I've been waiting for over a month to receive it. Had I realized this, I would not have ordered but would have purchased it elsewhere -- which I have since done. All this being said, the erasers are WONDERFUL and really do work!

Doesn't work as advertised, was expecting at most it'll work just a tad bit, but nope, not at all
