Keeps the squirrels away!
The media could not be loaded. Full disclosure - I use 1 1/4” aluminum pipe (speed rail) for my mounting pole so I had to slightly widen the opening on the baffle to fit. That being said, so far it works like a charm! I’ve had it up for 5 days and not one squirrel has made it past the baffle. I’m worried that, at some point, they might leap past the baffle to the side feeders but so far none have tried. As you can see by the video this little fur ball eyes both of the side feeders but doesn’t attempt the leap. I don’t mind the squirrels feeding on the ground - in fact I occasionally throw them raw nuts - but I don’t like them occupying and draining my feeders!

A quality baffle
AMENDED REVIEW, 08-06-13. I am still happy with this purchase but unfortunately I have to update my review. This is a great baffle to keep squirrels out of your pole mounted bird feeders and I still recommend it if squirrels are your only problem. To be fair this product is sold as a SQUIRREL BAFFLE. I was just hoping it would baffle raccoons as well. (This will not work with shepherds hooks without modification.) However, I was surprised to find a big fat raccoon sitting up in my tray feeder one night when I happened to look out the window. That rascal managed to climb over this torpedo baffle by reaching from under the baffle, grabbing hold of the pipe above the baffle and pulling himself up over it. So my earlier concern regarding the length of this baffle was confirmed. I now think that if the torpedo baffle was another 4 - 6 inches longer, that that fairly large raccoon couldn't have gotten around it. I am going to use a piece of stovepipe to extend the baffle 6 inches and see if that doesn't do the trick. (I bought a 2 ft long piece of 6 inch black stove pipe that I'll cut for this purpose.) End of update. The squirrels and raccoons had been outwitting the dome baffle that I had been using on our pole mounted platform bird feeder since shortly after I put it up. In researching solutions I had considered fabricating my own baffle out of stovepipe. Found this Audubon Torpedo baffle on Amazon for just under $20 so I thought I'd give it a try. I figured that the materials to build my own could cost nearly that much, not to mention my time. The NATORPEDO arrived very quickly and I was very impressed by its quality, fit and finish. Was anxious to give it a try but first had to repair the feeder that the fat raccoons had damaged from climbing on. Once that was done I mounted the new torpedo baffle on the pole about 3 1/2 feet off the ground and remounted the feeder tray, filled with black oiled sunflower seeds. So far it's been up a week and has been "baffling" the squirrels and raccoons. My only concern was that at about 16 1/2 inches long it might not be long enough to deter the raccoons, but so far it's doing the job. Wish I would have tried it much sooner! The birds are happier and I'm going through a lot less sunflower seeds and corn! I am so happy with this purchase that I'm going to buy at least one more. It's a very nice baffle and much more affordable than most of the similar products out there.

THIS REALLY WORKS!
It is not obtrusive looking and works like a dream! So funny to watch the squirrels climb up the pole and inside it giving them nowhere else to go but back down (Belly laughs), then staring at it all confused & p _ _ _ ed off. So VERY worth the money and is saving us a fortune on bird food.

DOES NOT FIT OVER SHEPHERD HOOK...
...even though description and instructions state that it will fit over any pole or shepherd hook. Bought one from Walmart last year and the 'bullet' was in 2 pieces that snap together. It works amazingly well. While this one clearly states in the description that it is a 'slide-on', I erroneously presumed this was the same style as the one we already have. We purchased it from this seller this time because price for the Walmart one has gone up exorbitantly. Wishing I could give .5 star. I don't know where people are getting their bird feeder poles, but this won't work on ANY of ours and we will be returning.

Excellent squirrel deterrent
This baffle is sturdy and has stopped squirrels from accessing our bird feeder. Agree with other reviewer who found baffle wouldn't fit on a shepherd hook--need a two piece hook because the top opening is small and baffle is one piece. Also, this is a little pricey, but once placed in a good spot on the yard, it works (and that is priceless).

Finally something that keeps those relentless squirrels out of my feeders!
I am so happy to finally find something that actually works at keeping my local army of squirrels OUT of my birdfeeders! I use a tall Shephard's hook, with two arms that have a hopper style feeder and a suet basket. Prior to this type of baffle, I had been in constant war with those relentless squirrels!! I tried a steel cone type of baffle, and they just used it as a step ladder. I tried adding hot pepper to everything, and they just ate it all anyways. I tried greasing the pole, they would then continue to throw themselves onto it, until one had slid off enough to make a space for another to climb up. My hopper style feeder is even touted as "squirrel proof". (it's not). They would just get to it and hang over it and shake the feeder until all of my birdseed would be on the ground, and a squirrel party would commence.I refused to let them win. I did some more research, and came across tube baffles that people said did the trick, without the squirrels figuring out how to get around them, and decided to give it a try. I too, would be relentless in doing all I could to keep them away! Installation was easy, and I made sure to follow the instructions to put it up high enough in the pole, and I also made sure to position the Shephard's hook far away from anything that they could leap from. Those little maniacs can fly 5 feet from a tree, and I saw them trying to fly off my bird bath (8 feet away!) to the pole. (they didn't make it, but they keep trying.) This baffle has saved my sanity, along with my birdseed.

Squirrel baffler
This the 3rd baffler I’ve purchased. So far so good. Very easy to install, seems quite durable.

Super squirrel baffle.
Easy to attach to a pole, does not float around in the wind and keeps the squirrels on the ground foraging for seeds dropped by the birds. Great product.

Definitely squirrel proof
I was sceptical before this arrived as we have some very persistent squirrels, but they cannot climb up or over it. It has certainly saved a fortune in feed and feeders that were constantly chewed and damaged. However the only caution is don’t place under a tree or near a fence or low roof as squirrels could jump to the top of it. Standing alone so far it is absolutely impenetrable.

Squirrels Hate It
This is a well made product that does the job. It has survived several years of abusive weather unscathed. The neighbourhood squirrels hate it. That’s the best endorsement you can get.

Good design and beats the squirrels
This has stopped the squirrels in their tracks. This is a good product and we'll designed. Looks better than the usual squirrel baffles in our garden in fact it doesn't look like one at all. Glad I bought this and would recommend to anyone who has squirrels getting to the bird feeder.

Keep the feeder away from trees or any other perches
Squirrels are very smart. It took one particular crafty one to figure out that he/she should jump on top of the baffle and them shimmy up the pole for a meal. But once I raised it a few times, he/she couldn't make the jump. it was fun watching him/her survey it from different angles around the yard to figure out how to get access. Eventually he/she gave up. Now he/she and his posse are satisfied with getting the bits of seeds scattered on the ground.
