Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Mombo Snake Magnifying Glass

This is a big, sturdy magnifying glass. My 2 year old loves it! Both kids spent hours inspecting things around the house. They followed dog tracks through the carpet and discovered the dog sleeping in the chair. We looked at snow flakes, etc. They have been played with everyday since & I can't wait to go outside in the spring with them to look for bugs. I think that in time, the snakes tongue will probably get broken off, but it won't have an effect on the toy. I do have to keep an eye on the kids because these are heavy and can/have been used as weapons. I got this for my grandkids to use when "exploring" at grandma's house. It does not work as effectively as a real magnifier, but it is easy to handle, indestructible, and allows the kids to pretend and learn the magnifying concept without me worrying about breaking anything. They love using it.

The Melissa & Doug snake magnifying glass is very well-made, super durable, and sized perfectly for young children. Just realize it is a toy-- intended to help make time outdoors more fun & interesting, not intended for a science lab!It magnifies just enough to keep kiddos happy. It is much bigger than the photo depicts-- close to 10 inches and the handle is perfect for little hands. The materials are very durable and will last a long time.

My two kiddos (2 and 3) absolutely love this magnifying glass. It's big and bulky which they love and it has also proven very durable (so far). It's been dropped on my ceramic tile and survived intact which says something! The kids have loved running around the house looking at everything through the glass. The only slight issue is that the magnifying power is kind of weak compared to science grade glasses. But it gets the job done and I guess you can't expect anything more from a toy designed for little kids! All things considered I would greatly recommend this product! For the price you really can't go wrong!

Bought this for my toddler grandson. He loves exploring in the yard & seeing insects & flowers up close. He has tons of questions about the things he sees & it encourages him to look into the amazing things he sees. It's sturdy & well made. He has the green magnifying glass at home & the blue one stays at Grandma & Grandpa's. Makes a great gift for young kids!

While it is light and would probably be perfect for my 3 year old snake loving granddaughter it doesn't magnify. Possibly there is a slight magnification but it is so distorted it doesn't count. I am appalled that so many people gave this a 5 star rating. Although comfortable to hold the seam holding it together is not tight. I'm guessing it will not last and since it doesn't do what it supposed to I will be returning. Very disappointed as I have been happy with many Melissa and Doug products.

These are very cheaply made, to the point of becoming unusable. I own a couple of magnifying glasses, from "scientific grade" to cheap. I wanted these for my kids to play with, for their cool looks. I expected them to have a cheap lens, but I did not expect a piece of transparent plastic that distorts more than it magnifies. I bought two of them. One of them was so bad it had *two* focal points and it was hardly possible to recognize the object we wanted to magnify. I love Melissa & Doug toys generally, but this is disappointing. I cannot recommend them at all.

I found this magnifying glass to be a bit heavy and a bit too long for small hands. The magnification is not very great. In fact, there's hardly any magnification at all. I gave it three stars because, being made entirely of plastic, it safe for young children to play with.

Die Lupe ist sehr stabil und solide. Die Qualitaet ist wirklich toll, Mein Sohn hat sie mit 3 Jahren bekommen und 2 Jahre spaeter ist sie immernoch intakt obwohl sie gut und gerne draussen genutzt wird

Was for a grandchild. So I suppose they liked it.
