BIRDS LOVE THESE.. WISH THEY WERE CHEAPER
My birds have an outdoor spring/summer setup and they love these but chew right through them. This year they popped the end out and last year the 1 wire was chewed completely out. I wish they were cheaper or made more sturdy… I buy at least 1 new one every year. I’d buy more if they were more reasonably priced. I still give it 5 stars because they love them and it occupies them for a little while.

Parakeets LOVE them!
My parakeets love this log. They work on it daily and have made a hollowed area they can get into.

My parakeets love them.
I found similar items at the pet store but these are made better and safer for birds. These do not have metal nailed on the ends like the ones sold at the pet store, these are sealed with something which makes them look natural. My parakeets spend hours working on them and in them. One has gone far into it that I have to look for her tail to find her.It took some time for my other younger ones to accept it, now they work progressively on theirs as well. I introduced it, then gave them time and replaced it back into their cage. They love it.Thank you for making these. Such a simple concept, and from a renewable resource like bamboo.Update. People say that pets resemble the people who care for them, I discovered that my parakeets excel in science and complex math and geometry. Considering that I worked at NASA in my early twenties, and now my parakeets carved out a heart. They probably saw it on TV with so many people using the heart symbol at concerts, etc. I'm attaching a picture to be belived.

Fabulous bird toy!!!!!
So far, so good. I put this humongous thing in my little keet's cage and thought, she'll never touch it. Or she won't go near it because it's so big. Or she'll be afraid of it because it's so big. Well, within 20 minutes, she had figured it out and was going to town, chewing away. How the heck did she know to do that? I thought it was amazing. She's not bored any more (she has lots of toys, but this is obviously far and away her favorite, right now, anyway), and that makes me happy! However, I will be watching for any hint of wire coming through the inside when/if she gets that far. I would order one for my Quaker parrot, but HE would probably be afraid of it. My little girl parakeet is fearless, but my Quaker is a big fraidy cat! Well, such are birds.I'll update this review if necessary. Hopefully not, not in a bad way, anyway, like wires poking through......

Great as a toy or nesting!
Our parakeets love this as a toy when they were younger, our second one we purchased they ended up using as a nest as they were of age to have babies. So now we have two baby parakeets living inside this thing. Can't wait for them to leave the nest and see them fully!

Not a bad thing, just neat that they recycle
Decent overall, just be warned your bird may or may not take to it. My parakeets wanted nothing to do with it, my Cockatiel gave it a quick peck but ignored it afterward. Basically just VERY soft balsa-esque wood inside, with a harder outer shell and waxy tops at each end. They also use the leftover wood from the hole they drill into these to make another toy they sell, which is just the drilled hole pieces on a string. Not a bad thing, just neat that they recycle.

Absolutely thrilled!
We adopted a parakeet that was found fluttering around outside. He had a minor injury and seemed tame but as injury healed he became wild and untouchable. He is older, not super active, and very stuck in his ways. He often seems bored and lonely, and without me being able to give him physical attention I opted for something to add to his cage to offer stimulation. I added a mirror perch to which he loves and this Kozy Keet. For the first few weeks he would not touch the Kozy Keet but he did start chewing on the wood perches and frame around his mirror. I started to think I had wasted my money. I decided to adjust the Kozy Keet to a height level with the mirror and perch and the next day I noticed him sitting on it & within a few hours he began chewing away at it! I am so satisfied seeing him partake in a natural and positive activity throughout the day. I can't wait to see what he does as he continues to hollow it out. Don't hesitate to try this with even the most stubborn keets! If they don't take a liking to it at first try moving it around until it peaks their interest!
