Way Over priced for the pair of foam panels = Shame on Auralex
April 28th 2018 -- Upon receiving them today and reading the instructions, then putting them together they are nice ( but ) have just a few issues that I wanted to share and this is why I gave them 3 stars instead of a 5 --Auralex should have had a hard sleeve inside or outside of the foam panel to attach the mic stand more securely to the panel - as it is now you just insert the mic stand into the foam and ( hope for the best grip ) -- The foam is what holds the panel up and in place which then has a slight tilt to them both and wonder why they did it like this ? These foam panels would be better to have a outside attachment point to the rigid back part instead of the way they designed them by the means of inserting the mic stand into them / the foam. The foam has two holes in the top and bottom and this is where you put the mic stand into them and I wonder why they did that too as it seems like a mistake. The round base is OK probably for a microphone mounted on it but to hold up the foam panel is ( teeter tottering ) on my high pile and well padded carpet which i do not like very much but they are both still standing up with a slight tilt. I do not know as of yet how they perform as I just un-boxed them and put them together but my first thought is that for the $350.00 that I paid for them it looks like they spent about $27.00 to make these with the On Stage mic stand included who makes the stands for them so it is a very nice profit item for them and this is a ( sour note ) for me as these should have been sold for about $80.00 for the pair if you ask me. They do look nice but do not like the tilt

I Made It Work For Me.
My ProMax panels are used as first reflection absorption and placed on opposite sides of my monitors ... one reflection point being the back of a door. I know, these panels were designed for easy mobility but the tripod stands were too bulky and cumbersome for my home studio; it would've been only a matter of time before I or someone else tripped over them. I wanted each panel to measure half way between my ears when I was sitting and recording, which made me have to push the panels over the handle. The good news, the panels are friction fit, so you can push the panels down past the handle and they will stay put. If you are setting up you home studio in a spare bedroom and/or a home office (of average/standard size, with 8ft ceilings) in my opinion these panels wouldn't be a good fit. However...These panels have been very effective of absorbing my room reflections and controlling wave frequencies. They were the perfect solution for me because as I mentioned, one of my first reflection is the back of a door. The panels are very light and easy to hang using adhesive velcro tape. I much prefer the thickness and the look of the ProMax panels rather than having 2 inch thick multiple foam squares on my door and wall. I gave the product 3 stars because of the large footprint of the tripod stands and cost; Auralex should offer an option of buying these 2 panels without the stands.

I bought these used from the Amazon warehouse. Great price. The base stands were missing - but I had spare stands for mounting them. The ProMax 2 units are both solid and light. I have used them for recording vocals and acoustic instruments. I used them on the left and right sides of the vocal microphone and you could hear an immediate difference in the clarity of the sound. It cut down the room reflections and ambient room noise. This allowed me to record a vocal with more clarity and detail. I used it to record acoustic guitars and again it cut the room noise down allowing me to record at a hotter level - giving me more detail of the guitar sound and player's picking technique. Very important elements that can cut through in a mix. I highly recommend these units.

These panels are amazing. Just putting them in the room with no thought about placement changed the acoustics for the better, and when I place them properly (I have four that I use to build a temporary sound booth), I may as well be in recording studio. My set has the round weighted mic-stand bases shown in the picture, so the older comment about the tripod stands doesn't seem to hold anymore.

Already had to re-glue the plastic.

Awesome
These panels work wonders! Just did voiceover work them, and they totally helped take out the room sound. Plus, since they're portable I can place wherever I need, without peeling the off the wall. Would recommend to anyone who needs a flexible studio situation!

Amazing. These panels look beautiful too
The reflections instantly stopped appearing in my vocals. Amazing. These panels look beautiful too, especially when you have a red spotlight installed above them :-)

They don't stand up straight and slide down onto a mic stand that has no real attachment. It literally just slides up inside the foam. Not happy with them at all and just wasted $300+ on them.
