I am so glad that we purchased this
I am so glad that we purchased this! I was really hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews, but it is working beyond our expectations. We purchased it on 4/30 and in the last 24 days, he has only wet the sheets ONCE. Prior to purchasing this, we went through months of waking him up 2X night with mixed results. After becoming exhausted, my husband and I would put triple sheets and pads on his bed and he would usually wet the bed twice a night. He is a very heavy sleeper. It was so stressful constantly washing pads and sheets. His self esteem was plummeting and he was waking up sad every morning. With the chummy, he puts on 2 pair of undies to keep the monitor in place. He also puts on two shirts to keep the monitor from coming off. The tape works great. Break down of the first week:5/1/16 -Chummy went off at 3 am, he immediately woke up with just a small wet spot on his undies.2nd night-Alarm didn't go off but he wet the bed once and had to remove his sheets.3rd night-alarm at 2:30. Small wet spot on undies- no wet sheets4th night- alarm at 4:30. small wet spot on undies-no wet sheets5th night-alarm at 4:30 -same small spot6th night-alarm never went off, he woke up around 5 and used the bathroom7th night-alarm at 4:15-both pair of undies wet but no wet sheets2nd week- alarm went off 4 nights and he only had small wet spot on undies. 3 nights it didn't go off at all and he either went to the bathroom or held it all night3rd week-alarm went off 2 nights. 5 nights he got up and went to the bathroom!!! The cord is long enough to allow him to use the bathroom without pulling the monitor or sensor off .4th week- we are only 2 days into this week and no alarm and he is getting up to use the bathroom!!!! He now puts the monitor and tape on himselfAfter two straight weeks of no accidents, we are buying him a Lego set. He is very motivated by that. His confidence is soaring and that is also motivating him to keep going. He used to whine when we would tell him, no fluids after 6 (his bedtime is 8), but now he monitors himself. We are beyond thrilled. Our room is across the hall from his, and the alarm is loud enough to wake me, although I am a very light sleeper. His sister's room is next to his, but the alarm does not wake her up. I highly recommend this. We are on a tight budget but this was worth it.

Disappointing, wish I'd purchased something else
I have repeatedly woken up to a wet child with an unplugged alarm...the way the sensor plugs into the Chummie is just too easy for a half-asleep kid to unplug. We started using tape to create an obstacle to unplugging it in his sleep, but would wake up to it still being unplugged. I really thought the only problem was that it was too easy to unplug, but was awake with another child in the early hours this morning, heard the alarm go off for approx. 5 seconds and then turn off...I assumed he'd unplugged it again. When a few minutes passed and he hadn't come out to use the bathroom, I went in to his room and found my son asleep. I went to wake him up, pulling back the covers and discovering that the Chummie's lights were flashing, but there was NO SOUND OR VIBRATION. The sensor was still plugged in, the alarm was just not sounding like it should. As he rolled over, all of a sudden the sound and vibration restarted. He'd wet when the alarm first went off and was soaked. I have no idea how long it's been malfunctioning like this, but no wonder my son didn't associate that it was time to wake up if it wasn't alarming consistently. While I had no issues with the tapes sticking to undergarments, I do wish that they weren't labeled the way they are. As the mom of an older child with this issue, trying to keep the use of the alarm secret was important to him and having things labeled as "bedwetting solution" in the trash doesn't help. The extremely juvenile appearance of the Chummie was another issue, nighttime enuresis effects plenty of older children who are often very embarrassed about their issue...having something that looks "babyish" doesn't help with that. I had concerns about the appearance of the Chummie when I purchased it, but went ahead based on the reviews, only to find out that it just didn't work well. I wish I'd spent some more time reading the lower starred reviews, before purchasing. One more thing, I did not like the setup for how you choose the alarm style or the volume control. It is hard to use and is poorly designed.Overall, this was a very disappointing purchase and I have gone ahead and ordered another product that I probably should have bought in the first place.
