Works good. Easy to install. Fixed Whirpool side-by-side water.
I bought this following a link from a diy YouTube video after finding water leaking from the dispenser in front However I looked behind the fridge only after the part arrived and found 2 issues: my existing was a double valve that included the inlet and rhe dispenser valves reverted together. Also my inlet was copper tube which I was a bit unsure of unscrewing. My first thought was to return this, but it was easy to break the rivet to separate the existing inlet valve from the dispenser valve. Took about 10 minutes with a thick flat blade, and pliers being both firm yet gentle and slowly going around the rivet pulling the two apart. Didn't have to undo the copper tube from the inlet. It was easy to push in and release 3 plastic tube's. Just make sure to push firmly and all the way when inserting into new valve. If you get confused with which goes where, just know that the hole located separately on this valve takes in water from the fridge filter - if you look under you can follow the line to the filter which is also a larger diameter hole. The other two holes go to the dispenser and ice maker and are also of differing diameters The screw holes on this valve lined up with the inlet valve screw holes perfectly and just pressed the two together and screwed right through. Tested for leaks with running dispenser before pushing back. Flushed couple gallons before use. All good and no more leaks. No need to call repairman or buy a new fridge. At least not for this.

Was not EXACTLY like the old one, but it worked!!!
Other reviews say the same thing, On my Valve, the electrical connectors plug in towards the back of the fridge. The new valve has the connectors pointed towards the front of the fridge. Not a huge deal, but it does stretch the wires a little and the bracket had to be bent some in order to face the same direction as before. Once installed, It works just fine.

Works well but louder than original part and item arrived beat up
I needed this part because the water wasn't getting to the ice maker. After trouble shooting various items, I figured out this part is what I needed to fix.I watched a youtube video on how to install and all went well. After installation, I waited a few cycles to make sure there was no leaks and so far so good. I was worried about it working properly because the package came in an clear plastic bag and the bag and products looked like it went through the dryer for 30 minutes. The bag was punctured in numerous spots and a couple of the metal contacts were bent. They need to put this in a box to protect it.Unfortunately, the new part makes a loud electrical buzzing sound for 10 seconds when the water fills the ice cube tray. It 3 times louder than the original. I hope it settles down with time but I doubt it.Update: after a week the noise was reduced but is still louder than the original (maybe a little less than twice as loud). Interestingly enough, the water dispenser is quieter than the water valve for the ice maker.

Does Exactly What It's Supposed ToNo complaints here—this product works exactly as expected. It arrived on time, in good condition, and performed its intended function without any issues. Reliable and as described. Would purchase again if needed.

Fixed
My ice maker would regularly freeze over and turn into a little iceberg in my freezer. Had I had some little bitty penguins, this would have been great. However, sadly I do not.I kept reading that it was the inlet valve causing my problem, but, being rational thinking, I did not believe a bunch of people who clearly know better than I. I replaced the whole ice maker. Just to show them how much smarter I am than the so claimed "experts". On my behalf, I was able to create an ice sculpture that would have made Rodin proud. Nice, but not what I was looking for.Anyway, I finally relented to these internet know-it-all professionals who do this sort of thing for a living, and I popped this little baby in there where the old one had been right up until I removed it to make room for it's replacement. I recommend watching a video before you dig in, but one wouldn't have to be all that clever to just brave it with a ¼" driver and a strong will, video unwatched. Once put in, I rolled the fridge back into it's freshly cleaned spot and waited to prove these delusional professionals wrong. And waited. And waited and waited. Nope. Still waiting. Ice maker runs like a scalded dog. I can't drink enough whiskey to keep up with all of this ice.Great replacement part. Highly recommend.

Just like the original
Our older Whirlpool side by side refrigerator water dispenser was taking forever to fill a glass. Researched on YT and found the most common cause was this valve. It looks identical to the oem and installed with no issues. Water is now flowing like it used to when fridge was new. Ice is also looking normal without air bubbles. Appears to be well made. I would highly recommend this vendor and part. After installation make sure to run a few glasses thru until water appears clean.
