Pleasantly Surprised
The treadmill is compact and easy to setup. As a "walker" and not a "runner," this walking treadmill has met my needs exactly to keep my walking regimen in the winter. The treadmill is certainly movable, but I wouldn't say it's lightweight. Still, it is a good balance between sturdiness and portability. I can pick it up and move it out of the way, but it may be too much for those who are relatively frail. For my height (6'0", I wish that the foldable "handlebar" was a bit higher or adjustable in height, but it is not uncomfortably low. Overall, the unit has been a very pleasant surprise in terms of ease of use and good quality.

Exerpeutic TF1000 Walk to Excellent Fitness!!!!
So when I bought this about a month ago I was really excited about it & saved 9 months for this treadmill. The box it came in is extremely huge. I didn't expect that! The weight I did expect though, aside from that the walking on it is amazing. I bought this because my surgeon and my family doc told me to walk every day. I have been walking on this because in my neighborhood it is not a good area. & two the weather changes rapidly and sporadically. Either hot or too cold and rainy. So I bought this and really hoped it would work and be a breeze to put together. It turns out it was a breeze to put together, since I READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL to put it together. Granted there are some parts in this that are heavy. But I put it together by myself! YAY! & I'm a woman. ;) So to any women saying it's too heavy, yes but you have to read how much it weighs too and esp. still in box. Without box it's 75 lbs or more. With box it came in it's 150 lbs. So I can fold it or not. I prefer to not fold it though. I have been walking on it ONLY. It says NO RUNNING! I am trying to lose weight, since I know my body better than anyone else or a doc. It really works with the heart rate. But once I take my hands off the heart rate monitors on both sides of handle bars & it has to restart the heart rate at 70 beats per second. Speed can be easily turned up or down. Couple days ago I have Err 3 on it but just started pressing buttons and it went away. Probably not best thing to of done but oh well it got the message away. Haven't had that message since then and I am recording my calories everyday that I walk. Which is fine with me because that's how I want my status of my calories that I have walked in four wks. I don't know if I'm losing weight or not because I DO NOT have a weight machine to stand on. So I don't know. But in the past walking has been positive for me to lose weight, so it has worked for me and I know I have do cardio a lot. I have NO complaints about this yet! So I will update in the next 3 months with this. So far I recommend this to anyone wanting to walk a lot! Or get active again from a sedentary lifestyle. It will definitely get your butt moving. :) Have fun with buying this. Also nothing broken when it came. UPS guy accidentally made a hole in the box with his large dolly but he was having to struggle with getting it in my home. So I understand.

Best value for a treadmill desk, but be prepared to do some work
This is a great treadmill for a standing desk if you don't want to spend $1000+ for LifeSpan and you're willing to put in some work to get it setup right. At first I looked at the Confidence Power Plus Motorized Electric Treadmill after reading a blog post, but that is very underpowered for use as a daily driver. You need a treadmill with a high power and torque if you'll be using it for long hours each day while walking. The Confidence only has 600W (0.8 hp), while this one has 1.5 hp. Also, the lower speed limit (4mph) on this treadmill is actually a plus, as it enables the motor to apply more torque to support your weight. ( 1.5 hp treadmill with a max speed of 4 mph will have more torque than a 1.5 hp treadmill with a max speed of 8mph). I removed all the handles/frame except for the console to minimize the footprint after following advice from another reviewer Jonathan Blank: https://www.amazon.com/review/RY6U913BMJMCU/ You'll need to following tools to remove the frames: - Large hex key that fits the bolts connecting the frame to the treadmill ( get a set if you don't already have one) - Monkey wrench or socket wrench to hold the bolts inside the motor housing stable while you remove the outside bolts - Phillips screwdriver I first removed the hydraulic bars from the bottom of the treadmill (these provide support when you lift/lower the treadmill). If you're having trouble removing, try putting the frame in an upright position instead of folded on the ground. After that I removed the frame from the treadmill. This will require you to first remove the motor housing by unscrewing the 4 screws on the bottom of the treadmill. Then I used my socket wrench (monkey wrench would have been better due to tight space) to hold the inside bolts, while I remove the large screw outside the frame using my large hex key. The final task was the get the computer console separated. First unplug all of the wires attached to the console, you'll probably need a flat screwdriver or something similar to remove the glue put on by the manufacturer first. Then get the main wire that's connected to the treadmill base and pull it through the frame support. You'll need to remove the rubber stopper where the wire goes from the base to the frame, to make it easier to pull through. Once that was all done, I had a great treadmill desk that was pretty similar to the LifeSpan base, which costs $999. Downsides to all of this: - At first the treadmill was VERY noisy when walking on it. Looks like the manufacturer did not lubricate the belt prior to shipment. I bought this silicon lube to spray under the belt: LifeSpan 100% Silicone Treadmill Belt Lubricant That reduced the noise by quite a bit. Also while the motor is VERY quiet when you're not on it, the friction between the belt and deck can be a little distracting. I'd pay another $100 for a treadmill like this if it could reduce the friction noise substantially. I tested the sound levels using a SoundMeter app, and the results were: 52 db - Motor running at 2mph 54 db - Motor running at 2mph while I'm walking on it. According to a link I found at workwhilewalking dot com, they claim the LifeSpan TR1200 is 57 db, so that's a plus for this one. If you're looking for a standing desk to accompany this, here's the one I got: 48" Crank Adjustable Standing Desk (Black Frame / Teak Top) They work well together. Overall, this is probably the best value out there for getting a reliable walking treadmill, though I did have to do quite a bit of work to get it where I wanted it.

Amazing! Worth the money! Holds a lot of weight no problem
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Works amazing! Never gets stuck which was my biggest concern. 300lb+ and I have plenty of room to walk. The control makes it very easy to change speeds. The handle bar is worth it. I’m 5’7 and I do wish it was a bit taller because I have to lean a bit to hold it so keep that in mind if you’re tall. I wish they would make the bar adjustable then it would be perfect. The tray stays in place and holds my iPhone no problem. The red cord is a lifesaver. I dropped the control once and had to pull the cord and the machine stopped immediately. Dead stop so be aware if you’re going fast to brace yourself. I have never gone higher than 1.3 speed on it if that makes a difference for you.

I bought this treadmill about 10 months ago, suddenly earlier this week it shutdown in the middle of use and would not turn back on. Then a few minutes later it started producing a horrendous electrical smoke smell and was extremely hot to the touch. I contacted the seller (WESTSIGHT) for customer support but was told that it was past the 30-day window so they won't do anything. I then contacted the manufacturer (Xplus Outdoor Inc.) thinking surely this product has at least a 1 year warranty, however since it was purchased from Amazon and not them directly they won't honor any warranties. Lastly I contacted Amazon directly for an A-Z guarantee refund/replacement and was told that the product was not eligible for the guarantee. So now I am left with a roughly 1000$ brick that won't work. Save yourself the money and the headache of the terrible support and get a different treadmill.

It's a good piece of equipment! No issues putting together and using. My issues were with delivery but that was sorted out. The treadmill itself was a gift for a person with degenerative disk disease in the lower spine region and it works great in helping to rebuild strength. Longer handles are durable and hold the weight well for support. Options are sufficient and good for the price you pay.

Great performance, feel secure by the long handle bars. Easy to store.

A good buy for us. My wife and I have used this treadmill for half-an-hour each morning since it arrived 3 weeks ago. So between us we have walked more than 60 miles on it. It shipped from Concord, Ontario to Calgary, Alberta, in 4 days, and took less than an hour to unpack and set up. It is pretty quiet. I am 6ft tall and my stride just fits the length of the walking belt so would not recommend this treadmill for anyone taller. We also found the length of the safety tether to be a little short making it easy to unintentionally pull out and stop the treadmill, so I used a longer tether from another treadmill. In early April I often exercised about dawn and installed a small flexible reading light because the display is not backlit. The long arms also enabled installing a reading/storage tray in front of the console --- we used a bath caddy from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I had such high hopes for this treadmill. My intended use was to simply clamp a board over the long handles and use it as a treadmill desk. To that end, it worked out perfectly. Simply adding or removing a few strips of wood I was able to adjust it to the perfect height, and it was very usable... For about 30 minutes. Then the click, click, clack, whrrrrr, click, clack, whrrrrr, began. After dealing with customer support, and tearing the thing apart, it was determined that the front roller had defective bearings. I arranged with Amazon to have it RETURNED. Due to a mixup on their end, after this treadmill was picked up for return another one arrived. Given that it was already here, and other than it being defective it was both quiet and suited my needs at an affordable price, I thought I'd give it another shot. After hauling it out of the box and setting it up, I was quickly disappointed... This unit was defective right out of the box. The motor was off balance and the unit both made an audible clicking noise again, and this time shook rather violently when set at anything above 1mph. After another unfortunate flub with the return of this one, I contacted Amazon for a third time and this one was finally taken away for a full refund. I eventually went with the LifeSpan TR1200-DT3 Standing Desk Treadmill. While this unit is nearly twice the price of the Exerpeutic, it is quieter, more compact, lighter, and has thus far performed flawlessly.
