Best alkaline cal-mag antacid
When I eat fatty and/or spicy foods, which I do a lot, I often need an antacid but don't like to load up on calcium without getting sufficient magnesium. I just mix a half teaspoon of this in a few ounces of water and it works as fast as any antacid. It can have a slighly fishy taste since I assume they sometimes use oyster shell calcium, but it is never that pronounced. As a nutrional mineral supplement, it is also excellent as others have mentioned in the reviews. It can be mixed with a teaspoon or more of ascorbic acid powder to make an inexpensive effervescent mineral ascorbate supplement to increase the absorption of both the vitamin C and minerals. I also take it with a K2/D3 tablet on occassion. Vitamin D increases the absorption of calcium and vitamin K prevents the calcium from forming harmful calcium deposits in the body. Or just get sufficient sunshine on the skin and eat leafy green vegetables.I have used and recommended this product for many years (decades) as an alkaline mineral supplement. I have seen people solve problems with restless legs syndrome as well as allergies. I don't understand how it relieves allergies, but before the manufacturer was known as Ecological Formulas, it was called Allergy Research Group.

The marketing isn't glamorous
But it is cheaper-no nonsense, versatile and effective. Fights cramps, exhaustion and such. Best for travel too. Just mix it with whatever you want.

Balances Electrolytes & Prevents Dehydration
After winding up in ER 2x within a year for dehydration no matter how much water I drank, my blood work still showed low electrolytes. My doctor recommended this product, and my blood work has proven it to work! It has also balanced my body's PH and it went from being very acidic to alkaline perfect!

Better flavor
An effective electrolyte mix, and doesn't taste as bad as most of them because it uses sodium carbonate instead of sodium bicarb.

Tasted bad in h2o use flavored beverage
This is a great product when mixed with a flavored beverage and tastes fishey to me when mixed with water.

Cannot be without this!
I purchased an infrared sauna for detox and relaxation. While researching, I read excerpts from the book "Detox or Die" that this product was recommended after a sauna session due to loss of electrolytes from heavy sweating. This made me pay instant attention to Tri-Salts as I compete in a heavy-sweat sport and am no stranger to agonizing leg and foot cramps while mountainbiking and the dreaded re-visitation later that night while asleep. Since taking this product, I have not suffered any cramping WHILE riding, including 50 plus mile races which can last anywhere from 4 to 7 hours depending on the course. I have even ditched Salt Stick, which I used to take hourly while racing. (Note to fellow racers, your mileage may vary, so I'm NOT telling you to ditch the Salt Stick or Hammer either.I also use this product in combination with 100% ascorbic acid (vitamin c) to buffer the acidity. I believe that vitamin c is incredibly important to athletes (and everybody) on so many levels its impossible to write about. Just do some google research on Vitamin C and recharging/flushing. The key is to mix it with the tri-salts to neutralize the acidity and create a spike or flush of Vitamin C.Since doing this for the past 6 months, I've gained strength and endurance which is noticeable while competing. I am very impressed with this product. It has zero taste...and I consider chalky a texture, not a taste, btw. So in the morning, I put about 3 ounces of cold aloe vera juice (Lakewood Brand) one ounce of pure lemon juice (Lakewood) and more cold water, half teaspoon or more of Tri Salts, to a honking big teaspoon or more of pure 100% pharmaceutical ascorbic acid. Sometimes I add to that Great Lakes Collagen, NOW Brand Glutamine and NOW Brand MSM. My knees are my crown jewels...and I never have issues with them. This makes a fizzy cold brew, tasting mostly of lemon. The collagen and msm has zero taste. Although I think that glutamine smells like feet when you open the canister, but no taste (thankfully). Anyway, hope this helps.

Helps
I was having problems going to sleep, and my doctor recommended this and it works perfect. I doze off and sleep through the night.

caused elevated heart rate
Not sure if this is specific to my genetics or physiology--but, 1 minute after taking the 1/2 teaspoon in half a cup of water my heart rate increased from 84bpm to 139bpm.... it took about 1 hour for my heart rate to return to under 90bpm.... maybe be a function my sensitivity to the fast absorption of the calcium...There is no way to submit without a rating so disregard the 5stars-- it is "NA" stars...
