Fishing Line Knot Tyer, Silver

This is a slick little gadget that works as well as I had hoped it would. I have fat fingers and find it hard to tie knots. This little tool made it much easier to tie a hook on my line. I also spliced several lines together and it worked great for that too.

I had to watch a couple of YouTube videos to figure out way to use this contraption but it really does work. After reading several reviews of similar products I picked this one because it is made of steel and not plastic. After receiving it, I was really impressed with the stamped steel construction. It is very strong and you will not bend it just trying to tie a knot. If you use it as screwdriver or something that it was not intended than yes it will bend. Just as if you tried to tow your boat with a Smart car, the car will break because you're stupid. Back to the Knot tyer. For a guy who is 56 and who has hands that are beginning to show the first stages of arthritis and eyes that need reading glasses...can I get a show of hands out there..this doo dad is really helpful. I really think it cuts my knot tying by 1/3. I've used it on plain hooks and lures. My 27 year old son with all the attributes of youth likes it so much he is going to buy one.I almost forgot to mention that yes it ties extremely strong knots. I found it is great to hold onto the shank of the hook and Knot Tyer at the same time when pulling the line to tighten up the knot. My advice for everyone is to watch different YouTubes then practice several times before you go fishing.

I bought this tool because I fly fish eight to nine months a year. Tying knots however is not my strong suit mainly because the line (mainly leader and tippet) and flies are small and my hands and fingers are large. This tool is a great guide for tying nail knots for attaching a leader to fly line, attaching tippet material to the leader and tying flies to tippet material. The nail knot is so versatile and difficult to tie without some practice. This tool simplifies the whole process. The directions that come with this tool are very basic and are pretty much useless but you can easily search YouTube for videos on using this tool to tie knots. It's simple design and ease of use make this a great tool for any fisherman to have. Make sure you practice at home a few times while watching the video and then it will become second nature for you to tie fast knots out on the river or lake. I would highly recommend this product.***UPDATE***I still use this product every time I go fishing and it is so great. Helps tie a strong knot to the fly and also is great for splicing tippet material together just like if not better than a blood knot. So simple to use and the nail knot is very strong.

Works fantastic

In spite of some reviewers claiming they received something other than a genuine Tie-Fast, mine was the real deal. Instructions are sufficient but for even more utility go on to that YouTube thing and search for Tie-Fast knot tyer. As soon as I received it I gave it a thorough looking over and everything was straight and looked like it should have. So I began with tying on some lures, hooks, and swivels on leaders to give it a full test and it really makes snelling hooks or tying on lures with a nice secure knot. I put mine on a lanyard so it's always at hand to use.

A very useful tool for tying nail knots. With most fly lines having loops at both ends there is less needs to tye nail knots, but if you prefer to remove to remove the loop at the forward end of the fly line. This is a useful tool.

Love this tooI use it to make stinger hooks and it works amazing
