Works Great
I finally decided to retire my old breadboard after spending the better part of an afternoon tracking down a circuit fault...that was caused by a loose socket on the board. After playing with this one a couple weeks, I am satisfied with it.=== The Good Stuff ===* The chassis is stiff aluminum, which gives the whole board some stability. It resists flexing when you insert of remove a wire/component. The workarea is also reasonably stiff, and the sockets seem to make a good positive contact.* The unit is a nice size- a little room to spread out.Of course that also results (at least in my case) in sloppy layouts.* Not really sure about the banana plug issues. I removed them and installed a simple screw terminal strip, which works better for my applications.=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===* I wish there was a way to anchor the board without drilling or other modifications. I hate having a board move around when I am working on it.* It would have made my day if there were three power buss strips instead of two. Nothing that can't be worked around, but I always seem to have a dual voltage chip or two that messes up my neat layout.=== Summary ===I am happy so far with this board. It seems "reasonably" robust, at least in this age of cheap electronics Time will tell how well it holds up.

This is not a toy. Wrong category.
This breadboard does its job just fine. The people who claim the banana jacks are flimsy apparently have never learned how to use a crescent wrench. If you tighten them down with a crescent wrench, they're perfectly sturdy. I was happy to see that they really are good quality. I expected people who would buy this product to be able to figure out that they need to tighten the nuts with a wrench, but apparently I was wrong. As a result, I'm more happy with this product than expected. The only improvement I can think of would be for them to have a lug specifically to connect a ground wire to the backplane. That said, you can use an alligator clip to do that when you need to.This board also can be expanded with the individual non-mounted breadboards of the same length, also sold by Amazon. I have an additional one attached (the edges of the boards allow you to lock them together). I may add another one later to make for a nice, very large proto surface.Good product, reasonable price. Recommended.

Nice board
Solidly made with a metal base. Much more solid that the plastic or pressboard bases on some others. Good quality breadboard modules. Wires plug in easily and are held nice and snug. I modified mine out of the box. Never really had the need for the binding posts so I left those off, mounted a power supply board and LCD module across the top instead. Now I have a real nice little development board to play with. Could use a little more diversity in the jumper wire kit, lots of little short ones that really don't have a lot of uses. Didn't bother me since I use much better pin terminated jumper wires.

Nice wide breadboard
This breadboard is great due to it's nice wide layout. As we got further along in labs my older single width breadboard was just getting to cramped for the more involved circuits (this is not a toy Amazon) involving multiple Op-Amps and filters. The connections actually feel more durable than my older board but this one costs no more even though it has 3x the area. Having 5 dedicated power rails is very convenient too. I highly recommend getting a jumper wire kit too just too keep everything sorted in the circuits.

Worked for the semester
Ordered this for a college digital design class. Held up to a semesters worth of use and commuting back and forth from school. Will use it again when needed for school labs or for personal projects at home.Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the banana jacks do seem cheap, but they have lasted so far and really if you're looking at a bread board I think replacing banana jacks shouldn't be too hard for you to do.

Three years and still going strong
I bought this breadboard for school about three years ago, and it's gotten me through all of my labs no problem.

Marginal banana/power sockets
The protoboards and aluminum substrate seem of good quality, but the four banana/power terminals supplied are cheap junk. They're probably fine if you don't remove them more than once or twice, but any more than that and they might fail. Comes with a wiring kit which might save some time stripping wires I guess. Also four rubber feet included.Price was too high. Exact same item is available new from surplus electronics houses on-line for about half this price. My Prime subscription made the price with free 2-day shipping just close enough to make it worthwhile, although still a little over the surplus store.

Elenco 9438 breadboard
Great size, lots of room for multiple simple projects or a few larger ones. I am mainly using it with my Arduino Uno, butI also used it to breadboard a 555 timer circuit that ended up being constructed to blink my Xmas lights. I have smaller unitsbut this one is my favorite, more tiepoints equals more fun.
