Excellent Product
All I know is that the product has worked well for about one month. I had no trouble loading the software and setting it up. So far it has been well worth the cost.

I almost gave up on trying to get this to work, but now I am happy.
I got this as an educational project for myself to learn how to use/set up Smart Cards just for the fun of it, and well, it wasn't fun. Granted, these cards/card readers are used by companies, our government and branches of the military as opposed to a person who wanted to see if they could use a Smart Card to use Widows BitLocker to encrypt a thumb drive that has a video of their dog jumping into their pool (just to see if I could do it).As the negative reviews have pointed out, this card reader doesn't come with instructions or software because these card readers aren't designed for personal use (it's just a mechanism to read Smart Cards). To be honest, I couldn't even find any useful videos on YouTube. (I was shocked.)In my extremely simple situation, just being able to link the Smart Card to be used with Windows BitLocker, I found a link to detailed instructions on how to do this (that wasn't 10 years old and referred to Windows 7). If this is all you are wanting to do, you will be able to find the instructions by searching on We take you through the smart card-Bitlocker setup process, step-by-step. Rather than needing software, this can be done by turning on various features in Windows Registry (and a few other steps). The instructions are PERFECT and I was able to get things working within about 15 minutes.I would have given this card reader 5 stars but I took off a star because the maker's website was completely confusing and not much help at all. In total, I spent close to 5 hours trying to experiment, follow dead-ends, and so on before I was able to find instructions that could help me.

I don’t know why ppl give this product any rating higher than 1 star. Horrible to set up, no manual, it isn’t a plug and play product. To download the required drive u need to create an account with Thales (so they can collect more data on u). Buying this product was a waste of time and a bad idea. Please it’s a zero star.
