Pretty Good (so far)
First off the coloring with my knife is different than the one in the picture. Mine has more tan on the side of the handle and the blade isn't that black. Sheath: Now on to more important things. The leather sheath is actually acceptable. It looks like it will last a little while which is good since this was made in China. It fit right in my army boot with a 2 and a half inch metal clip built into the leather. The Sheath also has a nice snap button that holds the knife in the sheath. Like I said, so far so good. Possible drawbacks for the sheath may include durability issues with heavy use. Overall sheath: B+. Could have been higher if it was better quality, but c'mon, this is a value knife. You pay for what you get. Blade: The actual blade came decently sharp (You probably want to sharpen it to your preference as I have). The serrated edge is what you would expect. It comes @440C Stainless steel. Info on the steel: It sharps easier than say Carbon steel but does not hold its edge like Carbon steel. It requires regular maintainenance sharpening due to this. It resists corrosion and rust (great in certain environments e.g. high humidity, wet climates). Basically, if you are going camping, bring a sharpener. Handle: The handle is heavier than the blade, so if that is in your major criteria, go look elsewhere. Mine has not gone through heavy use yet, so I can't tell you for certain whether this handle is super durable. It does appear though that it should last for the price of the knife, good trade off. Overall knife: Comes in at 9 1/8th inches from blade tip to handle. The blade is 5 inches. Will need maintenance (sharpening) but would be a nice addition to your collection and every decent knife has good use. I am not a knife expert, I just do a little bit of research. If you already have a big collection, this is not needed. If you are starting one out, or need one this size, I would reccomend it.

Jagged Dagger Gizzard Hazzard
The Mtech MX-8059 dagger is impressive, with a full tang blade, with double sided serrations and even a thein blood groove. The blade is an 1/8" thick, and has a guard that is precision cut to fit the handle. The serrations are easy to sharpen, and the blade can be finely sharpened. The blade has a partial black coating, which can be removed and blued, or blue it and leave the coating in place. The handle has a lanyard hole for some parachute cord. The knife actually fits the hand quite well, not very heavy, but not as light as a Mora, but it is full tang. Great as a cost effective boot or hunting knife, The sheath works when applied to the right hip. But it is ineffective when attempting to hang on a molle vest. The thumb release becomes reversed, and the metal belt clip does not allow for reliable molle mounting with the blade facing upward. A new plastic sheath with a molle point attachment would do this knife well. The dagger blade with serrations would give a gerber a run for its money, now that most of them are made in china, or who knows where they are assembled. But the 8059 is another fixed blade Mtech that is useful and sturdy for the price. These serrations are real, unlike the useless jagged unsharpened ridges on many fixed blade Mtechs, that will only get caught on the tendons and ribs upon extraction from the torso of a deer or wild boar. This is another good knife for the plate carrier or the truck. Will have to see if a moreso adaptable molle sheath will fit this jagged dagger.

I love knives and use them at work or in the ...
I was looking for a fixed, double edge knife. This was one of the few on Amazon. I love knives and use them at work or in the field. The blade was reasonably sharp, but I sharpened it well, and it has held the edge very good. It feels good in the hand- FOR A SUB 20$ KNIFE!! It is not particularly thick so prying with it would not be recommended. It is not weak and does not feel cheap, by any means. As a knife to carry to work to cut rope, tape, cardboard, rubber and plastics- so you don't have to worry about losing or tearing up your higher priced valued knife- this is what you are looking for. It rides nicely and exceeds expectations. One last thing, as a fan of knifes for self defense- YES!! I would feel fully confident with this knife. Don't let the price fool ya. If you already have a nice knife- go ahead and buy this- so you can leave the nice one at home and use when you may really need it.

Great dagger.
Very nice knife, came well-sharpened and doesn't take much touch-up to make it shave. The serrated edge makes this more than just a thrusting dagger, though it's use is still limited by the shape. Remember, this IS a dagger, not a camp knife, not a survival knife, not for whittling. If that is what you need, buy a different knife made specifically for that purpose. Remember the rule of 3's: You need to be carrying several blades, anyway. The G-10 scales provide a good grip, though I'd prefer a little thicker, more rounded grip. This grip is flat-sided. I still love it. My son bought the S&W HRT so I have been able to compare them side by side. The difference in price is negligible, so either one is a good buy. The sheath I received is almost indistinguishable from the HRT. Nicely made and the snap secures the knife well. Both are excellent stickers, slight differences in grip, and of course the serrations. Steel alloy is also similar, probably some difference in the hardening/tempering at the time of blade manufacture. I am very happy with this knife and highly recommend it if purchased for its proper use.

MTech made in China, USA design/engineering = Bargain Basement Price!
Most excellent product and yes, it is made in China (the price is a dead give-a-way) and designed/engineered in USA! From the knifes tip to the "end of handle" (butt) it is one solid piece of metal & as a bonus has a window glass striker so that in case of an emergency you could escape out of your car/vehicle if immersed in water. Also, the double "sharp" serrated edges should cut off your (possible) jammed seat belt too. The leather case is good quality and has a metal clip that should fit on most belts or placed at the top of a western style boot. *** NOTE: I would NOT recommend just using the clip to secure this knife as you may lose it! Lastly, the knife has a good grip, good balance, is very sharp & I feel is idea for people with small to medium hands. For the price, it could double as a letter opener too! Thus, I strongly recommend this as an excellent bargain for the price -- as I have seen a lot of "junk" that actually cost more!!!

Best boot knife ive purchased thus far.
I loved how thick the blade was for such a small item. Perfect for concealing in my boot while also being comfortable, you dont even know its there. Grip feels amazing and fits my huge hand well. The point is very sharp however the blade itself could use a sharpening. 5/5 :)

Love it
Love it. Sharp and handle is good. Strong and well made. I use it for hunting and other things I use for. I advise to buy it. You will love it. It comfortable on the hand. I still put a string to use it to put on the long stick and I wrap it on as a spear.

Good looking, not sharp
I received the knife yesterday. It's a model MX-8059, 440C stainless steel, full tang, the handle heavier than the blade. The handle consists of heavy durable textured plastic screwed on to the tang on both sides by four screws. The blade was encased in a plastic bag, inserted in the sheath, and shipped in a box. The box states it's for Tactical, Military, and Rescue. This was my second order. The first knife was returned (thank you Amazon) because the blade's black finish had a grinder mark and each edge was ground at two different angles, leaving the knife fairly dull. The second knife is a little better, in that the blade finish has no grinder marks. Still, the blade is not very sharp even though it seems to have an even grind. It cuts paper roughly and I can run my fingers lightly down it's length without problem. It's somewhat funny how the bottom of the box is deceptively marked, WARNING: This knife has an extremely sharp edge. Use caution when opening... . The knife looks nice and is made in China. My theory is the factory uses low skilled labor to produce the knives and sharpening requires some skill to get right, hence the result. The sheath is made of leather and seems alright, but I don't know whether it could withstand repeated insertions and withdrawals as there is no additional internal protection of the stitching from the blade. Oh, I almost forgot, the blade isn't sharp enough to damage the sheath! Maybe that's the reason for the under-sharpened blade. I'm still deciding whether to keep it as I am also unskilled in sharpening :)
