Definitely better built than the cheaper ones
With a price point in the high 40's, this AZIMOM light whip is more solid and the whip itself has a significantly greater amount of light filaments than the cheaper one I'd purchased (from seller Szyicong) in the low 30's price point. By trying to save 15 dollars I ended up with a cheap product I didn't care for much. Then I bought this Azimom whip, and not long after the un-boxing I realized how foolish I'd been for not having ordered this one initially. I am a Vine Voice, but I paid for both of my light whips: neither was being offered in the Vine program at the time of my orders. Both of these are rechargeable by micro-USB (neither accepts USB-C). That's it for their similarities. Now the diferences: The cheap one has a plastic handle; this one's handle is metal and feels way more solid. The cheap one has just one button, which controls the color and solid vs fading vs flashing modes, but also functions as a power button (longer press); this one has a stand-alone power button, and the longer presses on the main button cycle through the different modes. The cheap one has 7 static color modes to choose from: this one has TEN. The cheap one's LED filaments are fixed; on this Azimom the head (where the filaments enter the handle) rotates 360 degrees, making it much easier to use. This one also has USB-A port; I don't think you can charge the device through it, but if you have a phone charging cable you could charge your phone from the light whip's battery. I don't find this to be a useful feature, and I highly doubt I'd ever try that unless I was in an absolute emergency. MOST IMPORTANTLY: the cheap one is simply less impressive visually, due to the manufacturer having skimped on the number of light filaments; this Azimom whip has approximately DOUBLE the filaments. It's like the nice thick tail of a healthy animal compared to the tail of a diseased and mangy one; the difference is night & day. It's much more bright and colorful based ONLY on the fact that it has about double the lights! The return window had closed on the cheap one, so I kept it for parties and festivals, where strangers are always wanting to try the whip. Rookies are hard on these whips (it gets pulled when getting stuck on clothing, the filaments get stepped on, the handle gets dropped, and the filaments start falling out); light whips are by nature somewhat delicate, so young children, people who don't have the "gentle gene," anyone who hasn't had any practice using whips, or anyone who is too impaired by drugs/alcohol will potentially destroy your whip. I can let people practice with the cheap one and save this Azimom light whip for adults with common sense and at least a little experience dancing with light whips. So I guess the cheap one wasn't a complete waste of money, after all. I've only had this whip for a little over a month; it's been lightly used thus far, at one festival and at a house party. If it does not end up being a dud (eg. just randomly stops working, or won't recharge anymore) and is still in-use 2-3 years down the road, it is well deserving of the 5 stars I am giving it, relative to the other more cheaply made whips out there. One person reviewing this whip had complained that you should buy "the more expensive one," but I honestly don't see more than a handful of whips for sale that are above the 50-60 dollar price point, and for those the only things you seem to be getting are bluetooth and the capacity to program the whip. Those might be useful for stage performers, but for basic fun at parties/festivals both of those features seem sort of meaningless to me.

Quit working after 2 uses. Replacement being sent.
I used it twice and then it just stopped working. Tried changing batteries and still nothing. I contacted customer service and they are sending a replacement. Their reply was received within a couple of days of my email to them.

This is if
This whip is seriously so amazing for the price. Very bright, super easy to use, and so cool! It’s perfect for a noob. I bought some of glofx’s silicone lube for glow toys and that makes untangling the whip a breeze. I can’t recommend this item enough if you’re looking for a cheap entry into glow toys!

Won’t switch settings
Product stop being able to switch light modes. Haven’t used often enough in only 3 months to have any wear & I’ve been careful at handling it. Opt to go for the pricier one

I purchased this item for long-exposure photography. Good quality, well built! No issues or problems and seems like it is holding up to my extended use.

Received as expected, is exactly the type of whip I was looking for. I think I lost some of the light changing, it stays on a solid colour now that I have to manually change.
