Q: My digital thermostat in the tank reads 65 degrees even though I have set the thermostat and heat to 98 degrees.

Hi, I'm not an expert, but there are alot of things that can factor into the heat the actual tank can maintain. Things such as size, location, surface area, amount of decorations in the tank, kind of, and amount of substrate etc. So it's a good chance it can be one of these things thats affecting the temp so much.

You can put it outside under the tank. And put something thin like sand between the mats and your pets if you want to put the mat inside the tank.
