Great lenses for the price.
I bought this and a Yongnuo 1.8 50mm as an experiment. I’ve been very impressed. The optical quality seems dead on. Quite comparable to the Cannon lenses. No graininess. No pincushion. No are etc no distortions. Test images show perfect quality. The body materials aren’t quite as robust as the Cannon, and the autofocus is louder. But works perfectly. These are a great inexpensive lens for the advanced hobbyist. I don’t know how well they would hold up to the rigors of professional use. But for students and typical after hours photographers they are great. You can’t beat the price. Nice fast lenses.

Worth the money
I bought this lens on a whim. I figured at the price if it wasn’t great no big deal. I didn’t even pull it out of the package for a week. When I got a job to photograph some Etsy product for a client I used my canon 50mm then thought what the heck let me get the yongnuo out. Putting on the camera I felt a little resistance that I don’t get with my canon lenses but I’m not too concerned about it. It is noisy as it auto focuses but again not a big concern for me. When I got my images into the computer I was shocked at how good the yongnuo images are. In fact it is the images shot with the yongnuo that I delivered to the client. I posted a few here. I will be looking into other yongnuo lenses to add to my kit.

Just do it
Seriously. This lens is an absolute deal. It's less than $100 and is essentially the same as the Canon 35mm f/2 EF (older version). Autofocus speed and IQ are nearly identical. Build quality is even surprising. The autofocus is a bit noisy, though (so is the Canon version). It also focuses a tad slow (so does the Canon version). Either way, if you're thinking about purchasing this lens, just do it. You're getting everything the Canon has to offer, but for much less. It even gives the newer Canon 35mm f/2 IS a run for the money in terms of AF and IQ. If you're expecting L quality, or a Zeiss/Leica/Sigma, well, you're wasting your time. It's amusing people will buy this lens and expect it to perform like a lens which costs 10 times as much.

Great lens for the price
Great lens with a nice wide aperture for the price. While the focus may be a little noisy, it is the same as Yongnuo's 50mm f1.8. Personally I like a little noise from the lens as it is like haptic feedback to make you aware that the lens is working. In extremely sunny conditions my eye can not always adjust to the viewfinder instantly and hearing a quick "zzzt" feel/sound lets me know I am in focus and I can grab a shot. I know most cameras beep, but I turned my beep off as I do a lot of wildlife photos. This also helps when you want to stand and hold your camera low to the ground without pulling out the live view screen and you can see and feel the lens getting a closeup to try and grab a quick shot.

Broke after 4 months
Takes great pictures! Was my favorite lens. Then something came loose inside and it rattles around. Now won't focus either manually or auto. Bricked. Get what you pay for, I guess.

It works!!!!!!!
The lens works perfectly well. Pictures are sharp. Video is amazing. I love it. The build quality doesnt seem too great, its plastic and has a weird rattle when you shake it. But still holds up great and I think most folks would have a hard time figuring out that the work this produces is from a lens under 100 dollars. I added some pictures and I also shot VIDEO which came out awesome , check it out on my Instagram account : @chriscameraguyI use a Canon 80d incase you're wondering.

Unreliable
This is my second Yongnuo lens. Both did not even last a year. The motor is loud when focusing, speed of it is slow. The sharpness is good for the price. Versatility is good for all purpose shooting.

A decent lens at a bargain price
So far, I'm happy with this lens. It's not the sharpest glass ever, but it's pretty darn good for a sub-$100 lens. The autofocus is quite good, fast and responsive, much better than my 15 year old Canon 50mm f1.8.Bokeh looks great and it's slight softness makes it a nice wide portrait lens on a crop sensor camera. I would recommend this lens for a shoot that does not require tack-sharp optics and good OOF highlights.Remember, this is a cheap lens. DO NOT expect it to perform like a $600 35mm f2. But, again, for the price, it's not terrible.
