Great peace of mind when pup is home alone
I’m not a big camera person, but our dog had a seizure a few weeks before we planned to leave the state. He had to stay behind with some friends that would be staying the night with him. Due to their work schedule he had to stay home alone for several hours during the day. Normally this would have been fine but I wanted to be able to check in on him throughout the day when they weren’t there. What a great peace of mind of this is! I added a large SD to record when the camera captured movement. It can ID “pet”, “bark” and “movement” along with other things. Those were the things I set to be alerted to. It didn’t fail at all the whole time we were gone. Unfortunately Tapo doesn’t let shared users to turn off and on the privacy mode, but I trust our friends enough so gave them my login. I wouldn’t recommend this to just anyone. It wasn’t hard to change the password when they left so it was fine as a work around. It’d be nice if they made an option for what controls a shared person could change. The camera zoom came in handy when I couldn’t figure out where our pup was, usually on my chair where I could only see part of him. It’s nice to be able to scan the room from another state. The picture is clear enough to suit our needs, but may not be ideal if an extremely clear video is needed. We never needed the night vision but I did mess with it before we left. Overnight I was able to see the cat being crazy and running around the living and dining rooms.I didn’t use the talk very often but I did use it to calm my buddy down shortly after we left and also had a couple convos with our dog sitters when they came in and the camera alerted me of movement. They said it was clear on their end and it was good on mine too. When we are home I just lift it up and turn it to face a wall because I’m paranoid. I still turn it on every time I leave for an extended period of time, which isn’t often. It makes leaving my furry best friend behind much easier since I can check in on him.Overall I highly recommend this camera for peace of mind if you need to check in on your pets while you’re not home. It was worth every penny and I’d buy again in a heartbeat.

Does the job well and is very reliable
This review is for the Tapo C225. I have used one of these camaras for years for security. You can have it off when you're at home and the shutter physically closes.Turning them on when you leave is just a click on your phone. They alert me when motion is detected and are sensitive enough to have once detected a moth flying indoors, but not so sensitive that they trigger false alarms (had one 2 false detections in 3 years). They're very easy to setup. Once motion is detected you can switch to livestream to see what's going on, and even use the speaker to talk to anyone in the location. You can also insert a MicroSD card for local recording, or pay for the optional cloud storage (I haven't) in case a burglar takes the camera. The best part for me is that I have these thousands of miles away and they never crash or need a local power cycle, even after a power failure. That reliability is important if you're away.No complaints, solid product.

great price!
I was looking for a camera to keep in the house so I could check in on my cat while I’m away, and this one has been perfect. Setup was incredibly easy—honestly, I was surprised by how quick and straightforward it was. The app and software are very user-friendly, even if you’re not super tech-savvy.The picture quality is excellent—clear, sharp, and reliable both during the day and at night. One of my favorite features is the ability to remotely tilt the camera up, down, and side to side, so I can follow my cat around the room if she moves. It gives me real peace of mind knowing I can check on her anytime. I ended up buying four more!Overall, this camera has exceeded my expectations. Great value, excellent functionality, and perfect for pet parents or anyone who wants to keep an eye on things at home.

Cat Cam with Great Features at an Unbeatable Price
I was looking for a second cat camera to monitor our cats when we’re away from home, with specific needs: two-way audio, local and cloud recording, motion detection with alerts, and clear video with night vision. The TP-Link Tapo Pan/Tilt Security Camera, on sale for just $19, checked all my boxes and exceeded expectations with some unexpected bonuses. Here’s my experience to help you decide if this camera is right for you.Performance and FeaturesThe 1080P video is sharp and clear, providing enough detail to see what my cats are up to, even in low light thanks to the reliable night vision. The pan/tilt feature allows me to cover a wide area of the room, and the motion detection works flawlessly, sending alerts to my phone and triggering house lights when set up. The two-way audio is a fun bonus—I tested it and startled my cats by speaking through the camera when I wasn’t in the room! My wife loves that we can share video clips easily through the app, which adds a nice touch for capturing cute moments.Setup and IntegrationSetup was a breeze, and I was thrilled to find that the Tapo app automatically integrated with my existing Kasa app, adding the camera to my master device list without any extra effort. It works seamlessly with both Alexa and Google Home, allowing voice commands and linking motion alerts to control smart lights in the house. I inserted a 128GB Class 10 micro-SD card for local recording, which provides up to 16 days of continuous storage, and I also set up cloud recording for added peace of mind. Both recording options work perfectly for my needs.VerdictAt $19, this camera is an absolute steal for a pet or baby monitor. It delivers clear video, reliable motion detection, two-way audio, and night vision, with the added flexibility of local and cloud storage. The seamless integration with the Kasa app, Alexa, and Google Home makes it incredibly user-friendly, and the ability to share clips is a fun perk. Whether you’re keeping an eye on pets, kids, or your home, this camera offers premium features at a budget-friendly price. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a versatile, high-quality security camera.Pro Tip: Pair it with a high-capacity micro-SD card (like a 128GB Class 10) for extended local recording, and take advantage of the Alexa/Google Home integration to link motion alerts with smart home devices for added convenience.
