Mirage Pet Products Plain Leather Baby Dog Collar, 12"

I really wanted to love this collar, but unfortunately the color started peeling/cracking very quickly.The color itself is beautiful, and it initially felt like a really nice quality collar, that I believed would hold up. After getting it, I immediately started looking at others from this brand for my other dog, because I was so impressed with the quality. I decided to wait to make sure it held up & I'm glad I did, because my puppy wore it for less than a week when the paint/color started coming off. Especially disappointing because she only wore the collar a limited amount of time during the week & nothing happened to cause this kind of wear.In contrast, my other dog has a leather collar from a different company that he’s been wearing for months & it still looks new, despite getting wet/muddy/etc. that would explain wear. My puppy wore hers primarily in the house, in short spurts as she adjusted to wearing a collar. She didn’t even wear it overnight or in her crate, just when she was out playing in the house or the yard, or on a visit to the vet.Maybe something was wrong with this particular collar, but I’m weary of purchasing another given how worn it looks so quickly. Structurally it seems sound still, but with the color peeling so quickly I’ll replace it before finding out how long it would physically hold up.The first two photos show the color peeling/cracking, after minimal wear.
