A light shower! They can get wet quickly but dry just as quickly and don't get heavy when wet.

Are they the gore tex ones

No, but your feet are gonna get wet if you're trail running. Buy them, be awesome!

Are the Speedcross 5 a wider fit than the 3 and 4, or just the same?

Not the same gtx5 have a higher heal for more support and the tread pattern is a bit different, ie larger middle lugs and reversed lugs at rear of ball of foot for better downhill stability
