Waterproof Housing Case for GoPro Hero 7/6/5 Black

Great value in a waterproof case. Took this on a dive trip to Honduras. The case is strong, clear and did not fog with a very tight seal, so you know it is waterproof. Fits standard accessories with no issue. As mentioned above the seal is very tight. Good for keeping out water, but can be a little difficult to open without a knife. This may be remedied by a little lubrication of the seal, but I have not attempted that. The one drawback is that the metal bar the hinge is on is not fully encased in the housing plastic (see photo). As a result, it often comes out of its guide, but the plastic nubs have not broken, and it is replaced with a satisfying, positive click. Well worth it for the savings and functionality in my opinion.

PRESSURE-TEST THIS (POS) HOUSING BEFORE TRUSTING IT TO PROTECT YOUR CAMERA!!! I've used this housing a total of three times - only snorkeling & minor free diving, and never over ~ 35FT. The first time, it seemed to work ok, although looking back, I never had left the surface. The second time it started to flood, and I brought it back to shore before it completely flooded my Camera. (I thought it must have been my error, so I checked the seal thoroughly - and nothing) The third time, I thoroughly checked the seal again right before entering the water to make sure that there was no grit or foreign material, then closed the case and reinspected the seal yet again, and then held it underwater ~ 3 ft - and it appeared to be completely water tight. I entered the water as I spotted a pod of spinner dolphins, and swam out to meet them. By the time I started trying to record them, I noticed it was flooding again! This time I was 75-100 yards offshore - there was no way to get back to shore in time to minimize the damage, even holding it above the surface. Now, not only is my GoPro is trashed, but I may have lost MULTIPLE hours of recorded footage! I have not gone back and flood tested the case by itself - but now it's pointless! I'M NOT AFRAID TO SAY THAT I AM EXTREMELY PO'D AT THIS POINT! It may have been an older GoPro, but it was operating fine, and I damn sure can't afford to but another one right now!!! ANYTHING BUT A BARGAIN - THIS CASE JUST COST ME SEVERAL HUNDRED BUCKS AND POSSIBLY HOURS OF IRREPLACEABLE FOOTAGE!

Case looks really good. Except the top hinge looks like it's built weak and might fail in time. But will likely get the job done if the case isn't opened and closed a whole lot. Tested it in the sink and it is waterproof at a few inches. The buttons are spring loaded and seemed to be made really well. Looks like stainless steel. Gonna give it 5 stars for now. Since it does seem to get the job done. If they could design the top hinge in such a way that I would feel like I could fully trust it over the coming years then I'd recommend it for everyone. Otherwise it's good for the money.
