Q: Can they be hung outside? And if yes, how do they need to be powered?

I've put 4 sets of these outside, all powered by power banks. The wire is thin so I've fed it through the window and closed it and 1 I've put the power bank in a zip lock bag upside down so rain is kept out and can't run down the wire.

Q: How does the remote controll of this product work?Where is the battery in the remote control? Where can I insert the battery?

It just has a plastic tab that pulls out to make the remote work. I haven't needed to replace battery . You just point the remote at the plug socket to change settings it works on USB like a phone charger so you need to plug into a charger block you use for phone.
