Great Purchase
I have younger kids so "nice" furniture is not a wise investment for me. I'm so happy I bought this futon. I've used it to replace a ratty old loveseat that used to be in our living room. If you know what you're looking for, this is a really great piece of utility furniture. First of all the price is amazing for what you get - I couldn't see spending several hundred dollars for a piece of furniture that's just going to get dirty or treated like playground equipment by the kids. It was easy to build and is very easy to clean. It's comfortable enough to sit on to play a game or watch TV or a movie etc., folds down very easily, and looks pretty nice too. If I wasn't worried so much about spills or stains I'd maybe consider a piece of "forever" furniture, but for right now (and the next several years) having something functional that I'm not necessarily invested in is what I need, and this fits my purpose perfectly.

Brilliant design
What a versatile piece of furniture for the price! I have it in the Vanilla surrounded by sage-green walls and a deep garnet accent wall. I entertain A LOT...I have the EMILY futon sofa bed AND the Emily Chase. I love the European klik-klak design (no struggles to put the couches into beds. You just lean the backrest forward then the spring releases and it lays flat) and here is what this couch can do: You can set up the couch and chaise as a sectional, but I have them displayed separately in different rooms.. The sofa becomes a full bed (which is very uncomfortable due to the bar in the middle), so I bought a four-inch memory foam topper and it now it is very compfortable. The chaise becomes a twin bed (but I recommend buying a twin foam topper for guests). Right now, I have the entire set staged as a KING size bed in the guest room, complete with a microfiber topper. It is very comfortable. The sofa lays flat and the chaise, when flat, lays against it and velcros to form a KING. In the winter, we put up the back rests to the king and it makes a classy looking king-sized couch in the den. So comfy to watch TV and read. These are fun pieces because they are so versatile that depending on your mood and imagination, you can give any room a facelift. Although this is pleather, it is still nice looking. I clean it with Method Almond oil.

Would Recommend for Specific Uses (See Review)
I think this futon for the price is worth it so far. I would say it is likely a good choice fitting a specific type of usage. If you need something that will rarely be used, in a guest room or spare room, then this seems like a good fit. It checks all the right boxes for something like this; its cheap, relatively nice, practical. If the intention is to have a main couch or to use for sleeping on a regular basis you may want to look at something a little more expensive. Pros: -Affordable -Looks nice -Easy to Assemble (came with everything you need) -Easy to go from couch to bed and back Cons: -You get what you pay for. Im not confident that under constant use it would last. Also not sure it could support 2-3 adults sitting on it. -I can see it being uncomfortable as a bed (ill expand on this later) -Mine smelled a bit, kind of earthy, I had to spray it down with febreeze... Observations that may be pro/con depending on personal preference: -Very firm -Relatively light -I wouldn't call this linen. That to me implies a soft, cotton kind of material. This is more like canvas, ruff and "hard". Probably durable, not my idea of comfortable. As to the point of it being uncomfortable, if you look at the default image, above the pillow in the middle is a seem. I dont think its an accident they placed the pillows to attempt to cover that up (or the flower that happens to cover it too). When converted to a "bed", that seems runs across the middle, so no matter where you lay, this will be across the middle of your body. Another way of putting this is you have a seem going down the middle of it both horizontally and vertically. In other words there is no place to lay on this that you will not have a seem that you lay across. I would also say that the size is unlikely to allow 2 average size adults to sleep on it together without being too close to each other. I also doubt it could support the weight. All of this may sound very negative, but if your intent is to rarely have someone sleep on it I think for the price its a good deal. It doesn't look as cheap as it is but it does have its flaws when you dont consider how inexpensive it is.

super easy to put together and very pretty. when I first sat on it, I was a bit concerned as it was not comfortable but after a few days of being assemble, it's really comfortable and changing it into a bed is super easy

After reading the reviews of this couch I had set the bar so low this thing could honestly have crawled over it. We needed a couch that was not expensive, temporary but still functional. I had resigned myself to a cheap couch from Ikea but the day I was about to order I came across this on sale for $249 and decided, what hell for an extra $100 the lay flat option might actually be of use. First, the box is heavy and large so don't expect to muscle it by yourself, but having said that I just flipped it end over end to get it into the house because well I'm stubborn. The couch is covered in some sort of fabric bag to protect it, which was nice because this thing is white and my black dog doesn't need any help getting it all dirty. It lifted right off at which point I found the couch has a hinge in the middle allowing it to literally fold in half for storage or transport which I have to say is actually pretty cool. There's a zipper sealed compartment on the underside which contains all the legs, 2 hex keys and 2 sets of screws. I uh didn't look at the instructions, but basically it's fairly obvious what goes where, the smaller of the screws was used for the center legs and the larger of the screws for the front legs. In all it took me about 10 minutes to put them all in and snug everything up. Flipping the couch over it felt a little flimsy and I was honestly worried that something was going to break but to my surprise, it was all just fine. Raising and lowering the back appeared to be a major source of pain for other reviewers, and here's what I learned within about ... 30 seconds? If you pull the back panels all the way forward and then lean them back they will go flat. When you raise them however from flat there are 2 click positions, the first is a reclined position the second is a seated position. If you stop raising once you hear the click, it locks into place. Note that for each panel there's a click on the left and right side of the panel. Comfort, it's a matter of taste and preference, for me I find the couch itself to be 'ok' in the comfort department for two reasons. 1. The back is quite low so you've got nowhere to rest your head unless you slide down into the couch and basically slouch awkwardly. I can definitely see my back flipping me the bird at some point doing this, but for the most part, it's not too bad. 2. Even at it's sharpest angle, you've got no lumbar support, but this can easily be corrected if you throw a cushion or something behind you. So all in all, I would give this couch a 4 out of 5 because really at $250 what are more are you expecting? Oh the material, this is the faux leather model and don't worry there is no chance you would ever mistake this as being leather, it takes faux to a whole new level. But in an interesting diversity quota kind of way.

Lovely futon .. appears sturdy but quite hard for sitting but I purchased for extra bed and did purchase a 3 in. memory foam for it and super comfortable to sleep on…
