The assortment of flies are spot on. No cheap foreign made crap here, the flies are all high quality. The main reason to support Ventures though is that they will do everything they can to help you as a fly fisherman. Their vast library of instructional videos on Youtube are so informative and parts are lighthearted and comical. Too many fly fishermen are snooty and it’s refreshing to find instructors that are willing to share their expertise to make YOU better and also make you chuckle. I want to go fishing with these dudes! Or have a beer and a cigar and use our daily allotment of cuss words! Keep up the great work boys, you have a customer for life…

At less than $1/fly, even if the quality isn't always perfect and the hooks require a lot of sharpening, it's an incredibly stellar deal.Certainly better quality than any of the generic brand stuff. It's also nice that they include cards for identifying the flies, but it would have been nice if the cards could fit inside the fly case.Good starter set that covers almost everything trout related for anywhere in the world, but you will quickly find that you will focus on a handful of flies for your particular hatch and areas, so most of them are not necessarily useful on a daily basis, but great to have in the quiver.

Everyone I’ve showed this kit ask where I got it and how much the value is just right if you’ve got little funds, don’t waste your time buying flies that either you can’t throw or don’t know if it’s right for the season, ventures fly company did a excellent job with the informational cards they have for what kind of flies along with hook sizes, making it perfect for beginners, durability of the flies is dependable and relies on the casts, if you’re caught whipping the flys or “cracking them” they flies will break loose. Overall I think everyone should buy this set it’s a great bang for your buck

Not much of a value of you only get half the flies you were expecting. I'll update this review after I've been contacted.*UPDATE*--I contacted Amazon and Ventures after only getting half the order--as Ventures doesn't do the shipping themselves, it definitely wasn't their fault, and Amazon quickly sent out a complete order after I talked to their Skynet AI chatbot. I'm very happy with the quality and assortment of flies--it's approximately half dry and half nymphs, with a little bit of streamers and terrestrials thrown in. I'm a beginner fly fisherman, and it certainly gives you a lot of usable flies fast. A great, cheaper way to bolster your collection, and they're made in the USA! Also, the personal attention and concern from Ventures was much appreciated.I'm trying to get my dad and brother into it, so I'll definitely be buying more sets of these in the future! For the price, quality, and service, these can't be beat.

The flies are skillfully tied. They come in a nice plastic storage box. I like how they included the identification for all the flies as well as what size hooks they are. If you are new to fly fishing and are a little intimidated about where to start. This is a great kit to begin with. Also if you just don’t have the time to sit around and tie flies all day. This kit will definitely hold you over for a while.
