These are the best! I tried a knock off version because of price but they didn't work nearly as well as this DrainWig brand. I compared the two, the cheaper version has a shorter cord, therefore it doesn't go all the way down the drain like the DrainWig did. When I pulled out the cheap one there wasn't as much hair and the water wasn't draining, there was a bunch of hair clogged in the drain. I had to snake it out before putting in the new DrainWig replacement flower. I highly recommend this brand over the other cheaper versions. Works great!! No more clogged shower drain.

In researching the effectiveness of devices to trap or catch hair, in an effort to prevent clogged shower drains, I settled on two products that looked promising.A few similar product ideas consisted of a small basket or strainer that was to be placed inside the drain-pipe (under the drain-cover). This idea looked like it would work rather effectively and would be easy to clean by simply dumping the hair out of the basket when the basket filled with hair. The only drawback to this style of device was that it required the use of a screwdriver to remove (and replace) the drain cover each time the basket was to be emptied.I decided to hold off on trying the basket-style devices when I saw the "DrainWig." I noted that the DrainWig doesn't require the drain cover to be removed when installing and retrieving the device for cleaning.This Installation of the DrainWig is very easy.... simply feeding the chain down into the drain, between the drain-cover grates. Retrieval of the DrainWig is also easy.... gently pulling the chain, and the accumulation of hair that has attached to it, out of the drain. The accumulated hair flattens as it is pulled out from between the grates of the drain-cover with the chain.Cleaning the hair off of the DrainWig's chain is the only issue I've had with this device. The hair attaches to the chain in a tangled "clump." It cannot simply be pulled down (and off) the length of chain due to the silicone (leaf-like) crossmembers that are attached in intervals to the chain. These silicone crossmembers are delicate and looked as if they might break if handled too much. I found that the hair had to be cut off of the chain with scissors. This was not a deal-breaker for me but was something I had not anticipated.For now, I'd rather have to use scissors to clean this device than have to get a screwdriver to remove the drain-cover each time I would need to clean the other style of device.

I don't know what I did before these, honestly. They are such a staple in my house now! They are super easy to install, you just take the chain and put it down the drain. When you're ready to change, just pull it straight out. Its super easy and isn't as gross as cleaning a drain normally.It catches hair so well! I have long hair, and my drain used to clog pretty fast. It was such a pain. Now with these I don't even have to think about it! I haven't had a clog yet. The water is able to flow around it easily. It also sits nice and flat in the drain. They are nice and sturdy. The chain is metal and attached to the thick flower securely.

5 + Stars -31yrs using this and Never had a clogged drain yet! 👍Week of 4/2025, Checked out 3 drains and Not a bit of hair. The rubber pieces are not as thick as they used to be so on these newer ones, I remove the rubber pieces off of one and double up the rubber pieces on another strand, (just my preference). Never 🤞 had a chain break yet and have bought for family and friends throughout the yrs.

Work as Advertised... but recent big percentage price increase makes these extremely expensive. Not sure if they are worth the current asking price!

This is the 2nd one I’ve ordered. Does a great job keep long hair out of the shower drains.
