Treme: Stories and Recipes from the Heart of New Orleans Hardcover – July 24, 2013

Purchased a "Used" book from, Walls of Books Oviedo. The book was listed as, "Like New" and it certainly is! In beautiful condition! I could not be more pleased and I highly recommend this company! My hardcover book was packaged in a manila bubble lined envelope. And, they added a piece of cardboard, the same size as the envelope, to further protect my book from any damage! Fast service as well! I am indeed, 100% satisfied with my purchase.

This book is beautiful mix of Cajun and creole recipes and stories. Highly recommend. This is the second I’ve bought. This is a birthday gift!

This is a cookbook with a difference - as well as pages of enticing recipes this book gives a great insight into all that is this unique place! Makes you want to jump on the next plane to NO and savour all the delights it has to offer! I literally could not put this book down the first night I got it. Look forward to working my way through these tasty pages of pure indulgence. Us Europeans could learn alot from worshipping a Bible like this :) Highly Recommended! Well done Mr. Elie. I bought this for a friend that loves watching the cooking shows. This is something different, she won't have the bock already, and it speaks to the fact that we attend church in the Treme. I will most likely end up getting more copies and Bread and Butter gifts, and so on. I am so glad I stumbled across it.

What a great book and cookbook. Fun to read, fun to leaf through and an opportunity to go "back of the house" in many of New Orleans' best restaurants. We own many cookbooks and love New Orleans and its culinary scene. This book captures so much of the culture, history and cooking techniques that keep New Orleans unique among all American cities. This is a wonderful book to own, to use, to learn from and to gift to others. A real gem.

Heavy on the text, not all of the recipes appear to have actually been tested, but this is common in cookbooks, this is a hybrid book, so it can be expected.

I loved the show and all the characters. The book is like it was written by Chef Desautel. I really liked how it took recipes from everyone. I loved New Orleans when we were there last March. The recipes are good as well and the family liked them which made this book a double pleaser.

My husband and I have been following the show from the beginning. We love the series, and the book highlights all of the characters. Love that Davis's Aunt has the cocktail section! Even if you've never followed Treme, this book is full of original NOLA recipes. Love it!

Great gift for my Dad who loves New Orleans and Treme the series. The stories inside really do set this apart from other cook books. High quality, well made, all round excellent really.

Nice Book with some good recipes, reminds me of holidaying there, much better than the cookbooks I found for sale in New Orleans shops

Marvellous food but also good on the background to the characters in the series

My son-in-law loves food and he loves New Orleans and was pleased with his gift - the book seems to have a lot of content that appeals to both enthusiasms.I appreciated that the item arrived very quickly, more quickly than estimated, i.e. in plenty of time for Christmas.

Fantastic cook book and more !You don't have to be a fan of the show to appreciate this book. Great (and authentic New Orleans) recipes, anecdotes, snapshots of the cast & the neighbourhood which inspired the series.For the NoLa enthusiast or for anybody who appreciate southern/creole cooking!!
