This book is a Gem!
I am very pleased with this book. It contains much, much more useful information than I expected. I expected a book mostly on greenhouses of various styles and sizes: it is that, in respectable detail, but it also contains a large assortment of other garden oriented projects. The book is also technically well done, clearly professionally edited and organized. In addition, even a newbie in project construction will find generous explanations, photos and drawings to illustrate the details of construction techniques. Even for those who lack the time or space for any of the larger projects, there are many smaller projects to hold your interest and suggest new possibilities that might have otherwise escaped your thinking. Black and Decker tools ate used to illustrate construction users, but book is not a sales pitch for that brand. To emphasize how pleased I am with the contents, I ordered several more copies as gifts for other members of my family! If your interests are in projects to complement your garden (or your spouse's garden), you won't be disappointed. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, I rate this a solid 6 or even 7 stars!

Excellent reference
I have several of the Black & Decker books, and I very favorably impressed with them. This one is no exception. Whether I sit down to read it through, or just flip pages at random, I like what I find! Interesting as a straight through read, or as a random page flipper, I am a fan of the Black & Decker books. I never pick up one of them without finding new ideas … not necessarily earth shakers, mind you, but far more than what merely holds my interest. If you buy this book to get ideas for a small greenhouse, you will succeed in that aim. However, the section on other garden projects is a source of lots of fun possibilities … more than I expected!I don't think you will be disappointed!

OK, but not outstanding
Overall pretty good, but seemed somehow lacking. There is a pretty big gap between the low cost plastic and pvc junky greenhouse instructions and the higher end small house-like projects. Should have definitely had a project like a professional high tunnel in it.

Great book - easy to read and follow!
I got this book for my 74 year old mom as she developed an interest in gardening and greenhouses during the time of COVID, and she loves it. The book is well written with colorful photos and easy to follow guides. Overall, it’s a great resource at a fair price.

More than just greenhouse ideas, intro 2 greenhouse culture
I Loved this book, it pointed me down paths i would never have thought of taking. I like to have real books to hold in my hands. Those who are looking for more of a blueprint book should look elsewhere, this book gives more ideas, than instructions (although it does contain a few projects and cut lists)

Greenhouse Ideas
Love this book. I have utilized two homemade hothouses for the past 15 years here in the Rocky Mountains and this year, I am moving up to real greenhouses this year. Although I purchased Palham twin-walled greenhouses, I am still looking for ideas as to hotframes and suggestions for how to make the real greenhouses work better. This is a good, well put together book with tons of good ideas.

IT'S OKAY...
But that's about all. If you're a keen garden DIYer, and, of course, the owner of the widest possible range of power tools, it's a decent sort of book to have around for inspiration and ideas; and it's certainly very comprehensive. But if you're not already a fairly experienced woodworker you might have difficulty with some of the projects, whereas others are just too simplistic to warrant inclusion for anyone who is already a bit handy -- as you might expect to be if you had all the power tools mentioned here. There are some innovative ideas -- a solar dryer for making your own sun-dried tomatoes, for example -- but others are impractical, often being on too small a scale to be really useful, more eye candy than garden worthy, or just plain daft, like the small raised bed with wooden sides stuck in the middle of the lawn. And the Versailles planter on casters would skate off into the distance up here on a breezy day.

A few good ideas, but .......
I bought this book as we needed ideas and plans for a traditional greenhouse on a budget. I thought, rather naïvely in hindsight, it would contain all the sizes and instructions. Instead, it mentions a website address where software can be downloaded to plan and design your own. After a couple of failed attempts and emails to sort it out, I did manage to download everything successfully, but as yet haven't used it. I found out afterwards that the greenhouse we like can be found on the internet anyway with a link to the same website! This book does actually contain a few good ideas with instructions for the simpler projects, such as a frame for climbing plants, which we will have a go at, but some of the projects are a bit too modern for our taste.

Not bad at all-worth it
It's detailed enough for each exampled project. There's not too many full examples but how many do you need? It's a greenhouse. You build it according to either your allowable space or your needs. This book gives you examples of what you can use for the material and the sky is the limit for how advanced you want to go. Plastic film windows or Plexiglas or glass? Do you get much hail? Either wood or aluminum rails of some sort.I could go on. It's a good book to get you started. Worth the look and then go to your Home Depot/Hardware store and get help with the material they sell.
