Perfect for Aspiring Marine Biologists (and Parents Who Can’t Tell a Squid from a Shrimp)
Bought this for my preteen daughter who is convinced she’ll be the next great marine biologist. She now knows more about ocean life than I do, which means I’m regularly being corrected on everything from the difference between a seal and a sea lion to why we should thank plankton for existing. The illustrations are gorgeous, the facts are fascinating, and I’m pretty sure she’s preparing to write a thesis before middle school. Great book if you love the ocean—or if you just enjoy being schooled daily by your kid.

Good information, good presentation, simple, fun
This is what it advertises itself as. It doesn't pose as a college textbook with a fun font, nor does it claim to teach you everything that you could learn watching 100 nature documentaries or from taking a series of college classes. A lot of the information is simple and simplified, and is presented in an artsy way. I believe this style is a great way for people to re-learn everything we once knew but forgot the details of.My hope is that she does a "Forest Anatomy" soon, similar to this one. Because the forests, like the oceans, are a more comprehensive subject than her book Nature Anatomy, can cover.

Cutest nature book ever!
The media could not be loaded. I homeschool my kiddos and we love to do nature studies. Julia Rothmans anatomy books have always been a favorite in my household. The details of the images and the beautifully unique illustrations are incredible. My kids will flip through each book over and over just for fun. I’m glad she made these and I am a proud buyer. We love them. The binding is great. I’ve had the other anatomy books for a few years and they are still holding up after being used by multiple children. Even though the book is paper back, the book is made in car stock paper allowing for the book to have great longevity and durability.

Wonderfully written
This book is well written and has beautiful illustrations. Each of the pages contains interesting facts and makes learning fun. I am excited for my middle schooler to get to use it in our homeschool. I will likely buy the other books in this series as well.

Beautiful, informative and all round delightful!!
I bought this book to supplement my kids 'Marine Biology' unit. I had pre-ordered the book and wasn't sure exactly what to expect but the book has nailed it on every topic I wanted to cover! I love how it is such a fun read and applicable to all ages! My kids and I cannot stop thumbing through and reading out little morsels of information. Such a lot of thought and love has gone in to writing this book. Highly recommend!!

Must have for your family library
The media could not be loaded. I could not recommend Julia Rothman’s books more. The illustrations are beautiful and the content is well thought out. My children ages ranging 3-11 are all able to enjoy Ocean Anatomy with me. I enjoy the book too! As beach lovers we can use Ocean Anatomy to reflect on what we see after a day at the beach or to copy the drawings. The book was sent with minor damage already, but that’s a reflection of Amazon rather than the book itself.

Love it!
Very cute and informative. I love the art style and all the different things in here you can learn from. Someone said something about hard to read cursive in the book, but it wasn't really that difficult to read in my opinion. It might be for someone starting out with reading though. My 3 year old absolutely loved looking at the different animals and pointing them out in excitement. Getting this book was so worth it. Glad I ordered :)
