Enjoy -- You Will Be Blessed to Be A Blessing!
In the interest of full disclosure, know that I'm a "long-distance" student at the Bethel School and have completed half of the first-year course of study. Kris Vallotton is one of my favorite instructors. He's insightful, articulate, authentic, and transparent, even when led to use comical or less than flattering examples from his own life to illustrate a point. He's a teacher who draws from a balance between time spent in the Word -- God's Truth -- and time spent listening to the what the Spirit is saying -- God's Spirit sent to lead us into all truth. Test the spirits behind this book against your own knowledge of scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to give you discernment and instruct you, and be open to "expanding the cords of your tent" to deepen your perspective on truth. The Supernatural Ways of Royalty focuses on who we are in Christ and how we might walk out our God-given identities and destinies. The target audience is primarily believers, especially those who struggle with issues of insignificance or feeling invisible, but anyone in this battle could benefit from the godly wisdom the author shares. This book was exactly what was needed to propel me to the next level in relationships with God, family, friends, and others. I find its lessons continue to free me and open up a truer perspective on God's plans and purposes for my life -- that I would leave this world having learned to release the love of the Father and looking back on the legacy of a life well-lived.Just to give you a hint of the book's flavor, here are a few favorite nuggets:Chapter 1: The Plight of Pauperhood -- "A pauper is born into insignificance. . . . Therefore, when he becomes a king, he is important to the world around him, but he still feels insignificant in the kingdom that lies within him. Subsequently, he doesn't watch his words or the way he carries himself. He ultimately destroys the very people he is called to lead."Chapter 3: Dungeons and Dragons -- "Some people spend their entire lives reacting to what they don't want to be instead of responding to the call of God on their lives."Prisoners vs. Captives [Isaiah 61:1] -- "Prisoners are people whom the judge sends to jail. It takes a court order from the Judge of Heaven to release them [from sin and unforgiveness]. . . . Captives are people who have been captured in battle and held as prisoners of war. These people . . . are instead bound by the lies they have believed."Chapter 6: Training for Reigning -- "We didn't want our children to live through the same hardships we had. We raised our family to be empowered rather than controlled. We taught them that their opinions were valuable. We accomplished this by listening."Chapter 7:Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? -- "God wants to renew our minds so that He can do our will. . . . [God will] restrain His strength for the sake of having a relationship with His children."Chapter 9: All the Way Down to the Top -- "The truth of God's grace humbles a man without degrading him and exalts a man without inflating him. . . . We enter the death chamber of baptism with a cross and exit with a crown. The crown is 'the likeness of His resurrection!'"

includes a Prince vs Pauper self test at the end
Concepts that a reader will learn:1. Page 27: thinking like a pauper keeps you in survival mode, which will cause you to cut down other people to elevate your own self esteem.2. Page 30: when somebody values us more than we value ourselves, we tend to sabotage our relationship with that person because we do not want them to get close enough to find out that we are not as good they think we are.3. Page 46: forgiving somebody (a behavior required of Christians) does not require us to trust the forgiven person.4. Page 52: facing failures of our past (and weaknesses of our present) do not need to prevent future God-encounters.5. Page 121: leaders do not need to compete with the people they are supposed to be leading. Just as an side, after being a Christian for 29 years, people from Redding were the first ones who prayed "let my ceiling be your floor" for me. When leaders are paupers then they can be intimidated by the success of those they are leading. Leaders following the ways of royalty want and expect their followers to do better. When you grow spiritually, does your pastor seem happy or does he put you in your place with a "leave this to the professionals" attitude?6. Page 125: honoring unbelievers will show that we value them, which will show that God values them. Seeing them as pathetic losers will turn them off to us and our message.7. Page 131: the church should not be a place that we go but a tribe that we live in.8. Page 132: Christians need to have a plan to "parent" those that we lead to Christ instead of leaving them like orphans. This really touched me because the feeling I had perceived (from older believers) after conversion was "congratulations, here is your Bible, good luck, and I hope you follow it good enough to be found worthy of heaven".9. Page 144: our agreement with what God is doing is necessary to release his power into the world. God did this so He would not violate our free will and ruin our potential to love him.10. Page 152: some people who cannot find the supernatural in the church will sadly go to where they can find it (Proverbs 27:7).11. Page 160: the survival mentality has reduced the Christian experience to simply "holding the fort" while waiting for somebody (other than God) to protect, save, or rescue us.Brad

Prince or princess? Read this book!
I literally LOVE this book so much. I am going to read it again because I love being reminded that I am a Princess! When I first read this book, I wasn't to sure what it was about, but I read the free sample on Amazon and liked it so much I bought the whole book!Kris speaks about having the mindset of a Princess/Prince or a Pauper and at the end of the book you can take a test to see which one you identify more with. This book completely changed my mindset and way of thinking.I was raised a Princess but I always believed the lie that I was a Pauper. While I was reading this book, I had a dream one night that I was literally crushing the enemies jaw. Once I started to believe I was a Princess, I was able to stop believing the lies and realize the truth.Kris also speaks a lot about royal inheritance and at first I was a bit suspicious bc I had not heard much spoken on this subject (besides at Bethel Redding). Not doubting but also not totally sure what he was referencing in scripture, I questioned God about this. I was reminded of a dream I had about a man who found his dead dad's inheritance but he had been carefree with it during his lifetime. Because he was carefree, the family treasure had been hidden until his son sought out to find it. My dream reminded me of the treasure they find on The Goonies! Turns out inheritance is a real thing!I would say read this book and ask for God to open your eyes and show you the truth. God surely opened my eyes! Thanks Kris for writing this book and helping me to realize I am a Princess and that I can help others realize their true identity and calling!!
