Q: hi. since this is elevtronic, does it use batteries? thank you.

There is a button battery on a little green plastic computer board inside the ball. It's my cat's favorite toy but I only let him have it when I'm around. When he chews the ball open, I make sure to to grab the battery right away before he swallows it.

Q: No plastic tab to pull out. Is there any other way to make it chirp?

No. It is supposed to have the pull out. Also it stops chirping on the ones I've purchased in a very short time. The cat loves them but they are short lived

Q: Is there extra cat nip

No catnip came with the one I received. It also did not make any sound.
