WowWee Miposaur: Interactive Dinosaur Robot Toy, Ages 8+, No Assembly Required

Happy to review this productsI received this yesterday for my kid who is 10 , and he hasn't stopped playing with this! It took us 5 or 10 minutes to get the hang of how to "direct" the robot and use the remote ball, but after that all we've done is had fun! The one thing we realized quickly is that you have to either give the ball a shake or tap it lightly on the robots back for it to register sometimes. Other than that, it works exactly as the directions describe.PROS:16 inches long with rubber-action tail. Looks great!High gloss black with led lights make it really look like a robot.Once you get the hang of it MiPosaur works very well.Rubber tires for traction.The trackball is a good size for children's hands. (about the size of baseball)MiPosaur will follow commands even without the ball, just use hand gestures.Technology is cool with MiPosaur's balancing abilities.Scoots at a pretty good speed.Moods will appear in color on his back and he will respond accordingly.Learns as he goes.IR tracking works very well. No setup.Makes multiple sounds, sings and hums.Can be controlled with a smart phone or tablet.Snores then goes to sleep when laid on its side.CONS:Hard to remove from packaging.Speaker could be much better.Ball should have rubber coating. Not good for wooden floors.Highly recommended

My grandsons just love this, especially the youngest of the 6 year old triplets This was his birthday present. All three have had so much fun learning how to use it and playing with it. It is very well built and kid friendly. The Miposaur acts like a little puppy trying to please it's new master. I especially like it when it is in dance mode. The tail does detach which at first one of my grandsons thought he broke it but it easily attaches back on. It glides across our hardwood floors with no issues. It does fairly well on rugs too. I do like the ides of it being able to be control by hand gesture and the ball control that comes with it. The children absolutely love this Miposaur and have tons of fun with it. I would recommend this to anyone who has a young child.

I bought the Miposaur (and a Zoomer DIno to see which would be best for my 4 year old). So we've only used it for a day or two.I love that this takes real batteries and therefore runs a long time. I think having the trackball is great. The is all my son has used so far. The fetch the tennis ball is very cool. I like the lease mode where the dinosaur follows you. They both seem to work well.So the roam mode we haven't use much. Most people tell me and I've found getting it to follow your hand commands seem to be the weak spot.I installed the app on my iPhone 6 - it worked and was very easy to set up. The control in the remote control mode is a little hard to use - I imagine kids will find it easy since its like a game controller set up. I do wish the Miposaur came with a true physical remote control - this would be great - I don't want to give my kid my iPhone. And this phone control only works with the newer version that have the right functions (I don't know if it is the blue tooth but I think so - so my old iphone that I would give my kid - don't work with it).Seems well made even though it is plastic - it is a hard plastic and seems like it will hold up. I do worry with the trackball that it might break - my son dropped it on the tile floor - didn't break - but they may consider a hard rubber to help.

Somewhat disappointed for the price. For over $100 I expected a little more. For starters, I expected the arms to have some motion, they don't. In fact, the picture showing one arm slightly lower than the other is deceptive, the arms are fixed and in the same position. The android app is "not compatible" with my three year old phone. The toy is amusing, but not for the price. On the positive note, delivery was very prompt. One more thing, the hand gestures almost never work, though pulling on its tail can be fun

I bought this toy for my boys because they all love dinosaurs. We took 'Meep' out of his fancy little box and put in fresh batteries and off he went! My kids were occupied for hours with this toy, and that's saying a TON given that my children are constantly bouncing from one thing to another. This little guy comes with a ball that has a dial on it. You can change the dial on the ball to make Meep do different things like dance, beatbox and play with the ball on his own. There's also an app available for both Android and Apple phones that you can download to control him similar to a remote controlled car, and if someone else has a Meep of their own, you can even make the two of them battle it out in a dino deathmatch! Ok, it's not THAT violent, but it sounded good!This is one of those toys where the more you play with it, the more it exhibits 'moods' which are indicated by the light located at the top of his back. If I'm not mistaken, blue mean he's excited, yellow means he's curious, and red means he's angry...which you'll find out if you tug on his tail for too long. He can also be used without his little ball. Clap three times and he goes on auto pilot and just roams around on his own, or you can pick him up and pet his head and he'll actually purr like a kitten. Different hand gestures will cause him to do different things, and there's a booklet that he comes with that gives you illustrations and a list of the different things you can do.Overall, I've enjoyed watching my boys play with this toy and I'm sure most other children would too. For the price, this little guy does so many different things and with the app, he can do even more, so I find the price justified. You won't regret it, I promise!
