5 star pleased with product, 4 star glitch
After two weeks and counting, this has proven to be 3 yo and 6 yo proof. It adheres very easily to our mirrored sliding door. So much and easily, that i wanted to repostion like a millisecond of initial placement. But couldn't get it off. So be sure that you're sure on location. Also remember to clean surface first. As others said, it was impossible to pull down lever without using a tool. For that reason, i never push it in all the way. When i want to open the door, i Just lift up the lever without pushing all the way in. It stays in place until i close door and pull lever back down. Overall, I'm 5 star please with product, but it gets 4 stars for the level glitch

Simple, cheap and easy FIX
Used this product to keep toddler from opening the sliding patio door and taking off. Took 10 seconds to install, tape adhesion has been terrific and works very well!! Even used the second one to lock a sliding pantry door that is a composite wood material and had no problems with function or adhesion.Only minor complaint is, until they are worked in they are a little hard to flip down into the locked position. Kills the fingers and fingernails. but once they get used a little they loosen up and function perfect.

good price but poor security
we were so worried our 3 year old son would wander off out from our slider at 6 am again, we purchased these 2 door "locks" to help buy us some time before replacing our slider door. . . but our son was able to easily open the slider and push these 2 plastic "locks" backwards - not only giving him access to the outdoors without our supervision yet again, but also knocking our slider door off the track and creating a real jam (which has now occurred multiple times by both my son and myself . . . )If properly placed upon installation, these latches I could see being very effective. However, in my case, they are nearly impossible to re-lock without using a toothpick or small nail each time, and our slider would not open even with the latches folded back (without flattening them to the point where a nail is required to reopen / latch them . . . )we opted for a new slider to update our 1979 door after these latches failed us . .. . but for the price, worth a try!

Effective little locks
There are so many choices around, thought we'd give this one a try for the $. Works great except for one thing. It takes a tool to open the thing up, it sticks so tightly inside the piece. Hoping it relaxes a little real soon. It's still better than a nasty old stick in the door frame.

Super easy to install
These worked like a charm with our grandkids 2-4- and 6 yrs old. We live on a lake and when the grand kids come they are so excited to get outside they dart outside without adults. These locks did the trick. They were not able to open the door wide enough to get out. It saved me a lot of grief knowing they were not able to go outside until we were ready. I don't know how they would hold up over time because we only use them a few times a year when our kids come. It is a little difficult to get the built in stop open, (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but I kept a small flat head screw driver handy to open the latch. When the kids aren't here we just keep the latch flush to the lock so the slider functions normally.

Simple solution for a big problem
Very impressed with these little guys. VERY easy to install and do a great job keeping our 2 y/o from opening the sliding glass door. It doesn’t draw attention and is such a simple design. If you have arthritic hands you’ll need tool to help you though. It is a little stiff and can be difficult to open when you first buy it. Ours is breaking in now and getting easier to open. Glad I tried these!

Perfect
These are exactly what I was looking for to keep my son out of the sliding-door closets. I'm also thinking we'll use them on the glass sliding doors to keep our son from leaving the house unmonitored once he can reach the door handles. Great for the price!

Keep a tool handy.
This purchase was a must for us. The only issue I have is I can not pull the lock down with my bare hands. I have to keep a tiny flathead nearby to pop it out. Otherwise a great product
