Working great for HylaFAX on Debian GNU/Linux
I purchased four of these in the course of building a HylaFAX server on Debian GNU/Linux. I had first bought four USRobotics USR5686G 56K Serial Controller Faxmodem but I was soon in for nothing but frustration. With the USR modems I could not get HylaFAX to send or receive more than one fax before the modem wedged. At my wit's end, I replaced them with this product and I could not be happier. The modems were automatically probed and configured by HylaFAX, and were able to send and receive faxes right away. They have been in everyday use for the past few months and have handled hundreds of faxes without issue. I would certainly recommend these.

Works Reliably with Older Generation Industrial Instruments!
We use these (and previous models) to communicate with various older generation landline modem based industrial instruments. Compared to ALL other modems I have tried, including other external serial modems (USR etc.) this one communicates reliably with more devices, using the standard out of the box "AT&F" configuration string. I recommend this to my customers.

I hooked it up to a Magic Jack and it works fine.
I got this on a recent version of Ubuntu with Hylafax. You need a serial port. I hooked it up to a Magic Jack and it works fine.

Papa Johns Profit System
This is the exact same Hayes Acura modem being currently supplied by the Help Desk support team when your cheap blue modems start screwing up because the power button's gone bad, the modem has overheated and fried something, or when your power supply has gone bonkers and fried either itself or the modem. If you are too cheap to subscribe to the tcp/ip connectivity feature of the Profit System, then this modem will allow you cheap emergency and polling connectivity to your systems, with all the advantages and none of the disadvantages of the previously deployed cheap blue modems that we've all grown to hate.

Worked fine; easy install.
Bought this to replace a 20 yr old modem in a dumb terminal application. Worked fine straight out of the box. Setup strings were built into host software. Documentation provided with modem was adequate.
