PNY CS900 Internal SSD SATA III, 2.5 Inch, 500GB, Read speed up to 550MB/s

I had an old laptop that was showing its age by today's standards of computing power. These solid state hard drives are just amazing to use. Unlike the conventional hard drives that have spinning disks and a head that flickers around reading and searching for your personal data. This has no moving parts so the search and access times are reduced dramatically increasing the performance of your old computer. I upgraded the hard drive in a laptop which is little more involved than normal. But once its in there and the operating system is installed, the OS boots up within a few seconds, unlike the minutes it would take before. This 120gb is more than adequate for what I needed and it came at a great price. And because I know there are no moving parts in this SSD, it is perfect for reliability especially in a laptop that is moved around a lot. The build quality is really good and feels robust out of the packaging.

Very good drive - have this model in almost all devices. It has no as good statistics as Crucial or Samsung, but its much cheaper and still its good enough to massively speed up any PC or Laptop. Using these disks for over a year and had no problems, so they are pretty durable too. 120GB is enough for operating system, even so big like Windows 10. Its enough space even for most of software or data. If you are not gamer or animator etc. - you may not need bigger or additional drive. If you are gamer - you may always use SSD for OS, and additional HDD for all "bigger" data. If you are animator, you probably should look for bigger and faster SSD. Value for money is confusing. On one hand we have pretty low price for 120GB which is enough for most needs, on another hand we have SSD of very small capacity as for this time. On the market are already 1TB and bigger SSDs. Imagine similar situation with HDDs - Someone selling brand new HDDs of 320GB while on market we have already 8TB ? In SSDs its exactly that situation - we still can buy SSDs of 64GB while on market we have drives even 3TB. I would expect rather stock clearance of these sizes, but probably because they are still big enough for Windows 10, they are not leaving the stage.

A good company and a good product. Easy to install. Works without a problem. For everyday, standard use, it's very good. I can only recommend it.

really great item for the price i still have this in my new pc build and nothing has went wrong with it yet

Whilst I have other portable devices, my venerable Lenovo Yoga 300 remains my favourite when out and about. My HP Pavilion laptop is bulky and a Huawei tablet just doesn't hack it other than for simple browsing. Alas, the Yoga was beginning to show its age becoming slow to boot and load apps. This PNY SSD is not the fastest device of its type and the plastic casing is a tad cheap and cheerful. That said, it's a 240gb SSD at £28 including same day delivery! That is remarkable value and performance is more than adequate for my Yoga. Boot times are now just a few seconds and the laptop is so much more responsive. The available 240gb is more than adequate for my 'mobile' needs. The laptop also runs a bit longer on it's battery as the SSD uses 30% less power than the HDD it replaced. So, I am very pleased. This SSD meets my (simple) needs at an excellent price. It may not be for everyone but it has given my Yoga 300 a whole new lease of life - for just £28!

solid been running as a cheap os drive for cousin couldn't be happier if you want these drives to survive make this drive only for primary running windows any files steam etc should be run of a separate drive this will protect and save headaches in the long run. by having 2 drives you are splitting the writes to the drives and reads which will make your os drive not degrade fast. to make it crystal clear. 1 this is a os drive not for use in gaming use a separate drive for keeping your files and heavy programs on.
