Powerful - long battery - a bit heavy
Wow battery rocks! A bit heavy for me to use but doable... it is SUPER POWERFUL - when I tried the trimmer for the first time I accidentally cut down a glass lawn ordainment in error... batter life rocks - can do entire front yard on a single charge.

Lots of power.
Both units perform extremely well. Trimmer has some weight to it, but it makes short work of whatever you put it to as it eats everything right up. Edger tears it up too. Great set of tools to have around. I like it.

Frustrating!
The string trim head that initially came with the trimmer, would not advance the line ending up with the line inside the string head. I have operated many weed eaters and understand how the bump to advance the line works. I could not get the string to come out. The trim head cover is hard to get off. I had to use a screwdriver. Winding the line requires a lot of hand strength.EGO sent me a new trim head. It worked okay for a few times and then the same thing happened three different times on one use. Very frustrating to stop, pop off cover, unwind string, pop cover back and rewind the string.I bought the unit in March. Did not use it very often because the grass didn't start till April. Waited a while for the new trimmer head. Worked just okay for the next two trimmings and by the time it failed three times in one day. By that time, I couldn't return it to Amazon. EGO only offered to send me another trimmer head. The third party seller declined a return. I guess I will try to sell it on my own for a significant loss and I feel guilty to whomever might buy it.The separate edger head works, but oh my!!! It feels like you are trying to control a runaway horse even on the slower mode.I read the reviews before I bought it; they seem generally favorable.

Heavy but powerful
It is powerful and battery has good life. But, battery is very heavy. Bought the separate strap which helps but still heavy and kind of unbalanced. But main problem is line install and feed.Supposed to be easy by winding for install, but is not quick and hard to push in to wind. At this price $500 plus, thought it would have the rewind button on some of the cheaper models. Also, the tap while running to dispense the line does not work.If it was $250 would be okay I guess, but at this price not worth the extra money.Go for the cheaper model.

Durable
Switched from gas mower, edger, trimmer a year ago to battery. Had kobalt trimmer that just didn’t last. Had the ego trimmer/edger for a month. Heavier than kobalt model but still lighter than gas ones I’ve had. It feels like it is built to be durable. It appears to be worth the prize if it does indeed last. Battery life has lasted well. Used for three weeks before it went to half the charge. Live in Florida so have to use every week for almost ten months before I can go to twice a month. Better than snow shovels though.

Weight
This is an excellent cordless/gasless grass trimmer. However, you need to be a brute to run one of these if you have a fair amount of tall grass to trim. The shoulder strap does help to distribute the weight. Still, it's a beast to operate! No need to head to the gym---just run your Ego trimmer in 90 degee heat a while. The edging attachment is as good as it gets. You can easily edge an entire lawn in a minute or two. One of these days a light weight battery will be developed. Until then, the Ego trimmer has [my] vote.

Read this before you buy one
1st off, these items work. I think it depends what you are used to using. They have a battery so they are a bit top-heavy. Although they cut/trim, they handle a little differently. I don't think the Ego edger & trimmer do as good of a job as my old gas powered equipment, all though they do have other benefits. 2nd, before I purchased, I looked to see if Ego items were covered by the Amazon return policy; they are. After briefly trying out the edger/trimmer combo, I decided I liked my older equipment better. It seemed to work better and quicker for me (personal opinion). So I went to process my return and got surprised. To return an Ego item (if purchased through Amazon and their supplier Jack's Small Engine) your return process goes on to another step not seen before. That step is Jack's Small Engine. That step has a whole litany of possible return procedures including original packaging, new, unused equipment, only and more.Any item delivered with out prior approved will be returned to sender! So be careful before purchasingEgo equipment from Amazon. I thought I was careful and read the return policy but I never got to page 2, the Jack's return section. If it was there, I did not see it! Now I have an Ego power head & battery, edger & trimmer and trimmer line I am stuck with!
