Easy setup and highly effective
Bought this from a link on Youtube. It's a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.Caught a mole on the first day! Easy to set up and not a huge concern for my kids or dog. Easy to set too.15/10 recommend

This really works, I mean for real !
If you have moles then you really should try this one. My yard has been like a mine field for years, I tried most of the lotions & potions and dumb gimmicks but this really, really works ! At last count I got 8 of those pesky little moles and my yard is finally free of them. It works so good I might treat my neighbors yard ... I highly recommend this unit.

This is dumb and it doesn't work on gophers
This is a Wylie Coyote kind of invention. It has a big dramatic promise but ultimately it's more likely to cause problems for the preditor than the prey. The main problem is that it has such a stiff trigger mechanism. You have to hope the gopher or mole is just really persistent about bumping into the metal disc that triggers the trap. When intentionally triggering the trap (in order to move it because it never went off after there were gophers all around it) I had to find a pretty hearty stick and really jam it in there to get the thing to spring. It also doesn't really help that you have to identify exactly the right place to put it in order to center it directly over a tunnel. This is not as obvious in practice as the instructions would suggest. Then the idea of the trap - sticking it into the ground closed, then opening the scissor against a spring force, relies on the concept that setting it more or less clears a path for the thing to close quickly. In practice, the dirt closes in around the path and slows down the scissor just enough that I would imagine the average gopher would be able to avoid or survive the killing action. Finally, it's ugly. It's a big, shiny metal contraption that sits mostly above ground in your yard. I got just one to try it out. I can't imagine how tackey it would look to have three or four set up in your yard. All in all, I feel like a dope for buying this.

Works BUT
So, I'll begin by saying that after a couple of failed attempts this trap did catch a mole. The one thing I don't like about this particular design is that the lower what I will call FRAME is made with metal rod rather than a solid piece of metal. So when you set the trap those rod/bars aren't as sturdy as I would like, and they also tend to sink in the ground. The other thing I didn't care for is that from what I can tell the "TRIGGERING" plate doesn't really have any type of CATCH/LATCH, so it appears the design is for you to step on the plate on top of the trap and when you press it down, the only thing that is holding the trap open is the friction of the frame and springs holding it open. I had several instances of the trap being sprung with no actual mole being caught. As I said at the start, the trap did work, but there's another model I would have purchased had I have done some additional research.

Dead mole first night. Remember to dig out hole good for device.
Looked at the instructions and pictures of application and dug out the hole so the scissors could fully open and close. Put it out and with an hour in the evening had a release so pulled the trap. Nothin. Reset it, and it resets easily by pushin on it with boot. Was concerned the trip plunger was too high in the mechanism to trap a mole. Saw this morning the trap was tripped again with a lot of earth dug up around it. Pulled it and nothing. Though dug up the dirt and also the body of the offending critter. Got him! Had tried bait before that wasn’t getting it done as more and more dirt mounds appeared. Have found bait works in past but takes a couple weeks. Happy I got him and this device seems to work pretty well. Though can see missed are part of the hunt. Wish the trip plunger was lower.

Very Good Product
Very effective. I caught a critter the very first night. Just make sure to set it on an active tunnel, and push it all the way down, so that the claws opens across the tunnel. I also noticed that moles like a damp surface.

It worked..just press the tunnels flat to confirm the one he uses..Once he opens up the next day,set it on the tunnel and he gone...

A pain to set
This is a heavy duty trap and it works. The issue is trying to set it. You step on it. The plunger always wants to go to the side and gets caught on one of the springs. I always have to stomp down on it a few times before it will stay set. It like to pop back up about 2-3 times before it will stay set. It was getting on my nerves so much that I went to tractor supply just to see what they had. And sure enough they had a different one there. I bought it and love it. It has a chain on the top you stick it in the ground and pull up on the chain to set it. Very simple and works just as good. So I don’t use this one anymore.
