Perfect replacement for Medallion Instruments B1321
Perfect replacement for Medallion Instruments Inc. B1321 sending unit that was in my 1985 Bass boat. Hole pattern on unit and new rubber gasket matched up perfectly. Used my original screws.

Gas tank on my boat
After installing the sending unit on my 30 gallon gas tank in my boat it actually works beautiful just make sure you keep the old one and duplicate the old one to the new one however it is installed inside the tank make sure you test it before you install it to the tank to make sure the gauge works properly on the instrument panel as well as the sending unit good product

Works great and the install was a piece of cake!
This product works great, especially at this price point. The included directions make the install a breeze. The only thing that didn’t work is the included bolts were the wrong thread pattern for my tank but that was a nonissue as I reused my existing bolts from the old unit. This one is way more accurate and now I can be on the water without fearing I’m going to run out of gas!

Quality part
My boat gas gauge was intermittently working, not working, and having seizures. I made an educated guess that the sender unit was the problem, and installed this Moeller Fuel Tank Sender Unit in less than an hour (no, I am not a professional mechanic). Of course I left out a few steps, like draining the gas tank and doing a pressure test. But since the sender is installed at the TOP of the tank on my boat, gravity is in my favor. This sender unit is American manufactured, which I prefer when I need quality control like an electrical part in a gas tank. This sender has stainless steel rods, comes with a rubber gasket, and replacement stainless steel installation screws that come with a sealing compound at their heads. The rods are plenty-long, and can be cut to size. The only puzzling part is the clamp that holds the float rods together; for some reason its screw is made from regular steel. I would have paid an extra nickel for that to be stainless, too. Most importantly, my fuel gauge is working perfectly and has lost all seizure activity.

Installation was a headache!
It’s a decent unit at a reasonable price. Installation was less than ideal. Measuring Instructions for shortening float arm are not that clear. Instructions recommended using a hack saw to cut the arm to size, which was awkward and risked damaging the unit. The float arm slipped from the cover plate into the fuel tank during installation, which was an incredible bummer. I had to fish it out with a hanger. Instructions did not warn of this possibility. Mounting screw didn’t fit my tank. I had to use the old screws and seal them with silicon. I think a more expensive unit would have been much easier to install. Everything is working fiber now. We’ll see how long that lasts.
