Updated review 3 star to 5 star
I bought the Suunto Ambit Peak 3 despite the many warnings on the internet about it's connectivity problems with Android devices, as I thought the problems may have been ironed out by now, almost two years after the watch's first appearance. The watch itself is solid and reliable and does what it is supposed to do. The display is somewhat limited and dour compared to the latest Garmins, but then the battery life is very good by way of compensation. The accuracy of the GPS, compass, altimeter and barometer are reasonable for a watch, too. Unfortunately, the Movescount app and daily connectivity problems drove me round the twist in the end. I was having to re-pair the watch and app every day, sometimes four of five times a day and, even then, connectivity was often patchy and limited. In the end, it stopped pairing entirely, and I had to send it back and get a refund.Update: 19NOV2017Since returning this watch and leaving a three star review, I have tried one or two other brands, but none were as accurate or as clear to read and navigate as the Ambit Peak, or had such a good battery life. I noticed a few weeks ago that there had been a major firmware update, and so I bought the item again. I have to say, the watch is almost perfect now. It connects with my Android phone easily without any fuss at all. The watch is comfortable, the dial clear and easy to read, the functions simple to navigate, and the accuracy is excellent. There are some nifty little features on the Movescount app, too. I have had the watch a month, and have charged it only once since the first charge. It's still on 37% after two weeks. Admittedly, I have only used the GPS tracking features for about five hours in total, but all other features have been used regularly. In short, a great watch, perfect for what I want. Don't forget to update!

Amazing watch but flawed
This watch is amazing, it can do things I will never need. I bought it because of the battery life, having run two ultras and my previous watch died before I finished. The watch itself is very easy to use, my difficulties began when syncing it to my ipad. I suppose it is just very different to what I have been used to. When I eventually got the sync up I was blown away by the amount of details it records. If you like stats this is the watch for you.Delivery was very quick, it arrived within 5 days of order, well ahead of the given time scale. This is still very much a learning process at the moment, should I find any real issues I will add to my review. As promised I said I would update my review if any issues arose. I have now had three Ambit3 Peak watches. On each occasion, after about 3 months or a bit more the HRT strap disconnected from the watch and would not resync. The supplier was very good on each occasion and replaced the watch, however for an amazing watch with a superb battery life I had on the final time of not having access to my heart rate I asked for a refund and have moved back to Garmin

Excellent all round watch
I spent a long time researching a watch that I could use for hiking.I needed something that I could upload a GPX file and follow. Battery life was also important as I often wildcamp on 2/3 day trips. This watch has it all. So many features (that admittedly I will never use). Mainly aimed at runners or high impact training but it does everything I need as a hiker.Finds a GPS signal very quickly. The heart rate belt is a welcome addition. Good to know at what points I was working hard. The Sunnto app is very good and analyses your workout in detail.Only negative, and this is a very minor one is the watch is bulky.Highly recommended.

Great watch, awfull smart sensor useless mobile app and almost nonexisting support
It is my first sport watch more like test project because i got into swimming and started to search for tool to track laps , distance and strokes and so on , because of good design and reasoanable price i decided to give a try. After two months 24/7 use i can say : the watch is great i did not use the gps and recharge it once in two weeks . I use it as everyday watch and my Edifice dont miss me at all, the sport i practice are pool swimming , table tennis , weight training and tredmill running. I`m very satisfied with swimming features like stroke rate, auto laps and so on. On all other sports i actively use Smart Sensor belt to track how hard i`m working out, at first it was ok and the results were comparable to previous HR device i used (TomTom chest sensor which is rebranded SmartLab one). After a month of use Smart Sensor it started to gives very strange result sometimes very high above 230 and sometines around 80-100 while it should be 130-150, or single value appers for prolonged periods wo any fluctuations. I`ve tried to replace the belt (bought another one) , replace the battery, then finally googling to found out it is a common problem and sent back on 31.01. According USP it arrived on 4.02 while status on my ticket is still "In transit " to this day. I`m not sure if and when will be replaced or repaired.Update: it arrived back on 14.02 and worked wo any issues for a 2 weeks now started agian to provide completly unappropriate values so it seems that i`ll have to use my old HRM.Just look at comments of this topic: https://andrewskurka.com/2018/heart-rate-monitor-suunto-smart-sensor-ambit-troubleshooting/

Accurate elevation
Did a lot of reviewing for a watch for hiking after weeks I decided on the Ambit 3 peak. The main reason I wanted this watch was for accurate elevation and this watch did not disappoint. Iv tested it on over 20 mountain Summits and the elevation was with in a few feet. It can be a bit temperamental syncing the watch to the app on my iPhone sometimes it does it straight away and other time it can take a while. When synced it automatically transfers all recorded information to Strava.
