Samsung HMX-W300RN Rugged Full HD 1080p Pocket Camcorder (Red)

This camera is perfect for trips because is is not only small and tough, it is water resistant and you don't have to worry about the rain doing damage to it. It has an electronic zoom which is good enough for most purposes on the road, but electronic zoom is not as good a optical zoom. However, I still give this camera 5 stars.

I purchased this camcorder right before a cruise and it preformed very well. I have submerged it in fresh water as well as salt it work just fine. I was a little hesitant to purchase this camcorder because the older model had so many problems;I am very careful with this camcorder I have not dropped it yet,with such a sturdy design I am sure it will survive a small drop or two. The quality of the pictures are really good as well as the quality of the video is very high and very easy to work with,I find that the pause feature on the video is not very smooth when watching on playback but it is a handy feature. I do think there is room for improvement though the camera needs a flash or a light because shooting in very low light is just not an option, I find that not having any kind of flash or light on the camera tends to makes me a bit hesitant to use the camera without a backup. Overall this camera is a very durable fun addition to anyone's camera arsenal.

I didn't give a better rate because this is not a complete solution... in order to work out of the box it needs a MicroSDHC card... and not any card, it has to be really HIGH SPEED so it can record HD video. This should have been made clear (without the card, the camcorder is useless) and options of the right cards should have been offered; working bundles... ones that can be assured to work. I had to buy the card separately and ended up with a slower card that doesn't allow full HD... Very disappointing that in order to show low price, this happens. The product itself seems excellent otherwise.

This Pocket Camcorder is the worst ever... It is supossed made to be used in the water, but it is false. I have used 3 times in swimming Pool. The first two times worked, but the last time, it stopped working. I was recording inside the swimming Pool ( just 6 feet deep) and suddenly this camera stopped working, the image displayed on the screen was getting fuzzy and when i realized, nothing was on the screen. Besides, the screen and the lens were full of water, so, i don't understand why SAMSUNG promises one thing that the product can not accomplish. As soon as i got home, I charged the camera and tried to turn on the camera but it didn't work, and today, ( 4 days after the last time i used it ), the camera is not working, and is still full of water inside. So, what I can conclude is that this camera is rubbish, so, NEVER GET THIS CAMERA PLEASE. SAMSUNG IS CHEATING ITS CUSTOMERS WITH THIS PRODUCT.

I purchased this camera and began using it on hikes. I liked how quickly the camera turned on and begin shooting and recorded. Helped make sure you got the pictures and video you wanted to rather then missing the shot because you had to wait for the camera to turn on. I am disappointed how poor the picture quality is when shooting things in the distance (landscape shots).I am in Kauai (Hawaii) and decided to take this camera on my first snorkeling trip. At first it was working fine and I got some amazing pictures and video of sea turtles. Later I reviewed the pictures and video and the quality was incredible. The pictures came out better on this camera then they have on some more expensive cameras I have. The ease and ability to manipulate this camera underwater was very good.Unfortunately while I was About 10-20 min into my snorkeling trip the side compartment (micro sd/hdmi compartment) popped open. The Slide button to open this compartment is right where my thumb was when holding the camera to take pictures/videos. The slide button is also not recessed or anything to help prevent an accidental opening along with the button takes very little pressure to slide it to the open position. So water flooded my camera and even after days of sitting in rice I now have a $120.00 piece of plastic.The quality of the pictures was good and if the damage was caused by my actions I would purchase this camera again but the poor design of this "underwater" camera only has Samsung to blame on this one. If they fix this horrendous design flaw then this camera would make a good snorkeling camera.

It is everything we wanted and expected. Great quality video and pictures. Inside pictures/videos with lower natural light are not quite as clear, but underwater and outside pic's & video is great! Easy to use and can play back thru your big screen TV with a "micro to standard HDMI cable!" Love it! Inexpensive, as well, at $128, and have seen it on sale for $119!

It's a handy friend for me now .....I got it as a wedding anniversary gift....we have a 15 month old who likes to get a hold of the cam all the time,But since it is waterproof it survives through 'll the drool and rough handelingI just needed something to take along with me to capture my son's precious moments.And I must say it serves the purpose.....The images as good as iPhone quality and the video clarity is pretty good too.There is one issue from day one it did not have any sound when you played the video back on the device itself, but when I hook it to the pc or upload the videos on YouTube it sounds perfect. Since I did not find anything else wrong with the device I am living With the lil bitty flaw it has, And for all of you who are wondering if it works with Windows 8? The answer is it does work... I am glad I went for it.And I got it for a great price, and timely shipping was done for the product. THANKS TO THE SELLER.....

Love this camera with the bright colors and small size, with ability to take pics underwater too. No flash but even if you shoot in the dark it picks up something.
