Got an Edge in My Results with this Product
The quality of this product is high and it appears to be effective. I purchased it after reading about research in the news where a supplement had been put together that was demonstrating strong evidence of helping people to work accomplish more in running and biking tests. The supplement is supposed to have a greater effect on women, because it's primary ingredients were metal minerals like iron, zinc, and copper that guys don't tend to be as deficient in--all of which they explained related to energy production or efficient use of it. Carnitine was also included, which the M.d. explained was because of it's known effect of encouraging the body to burn fat as a source of energy. When I did further research I found two primary forms of supplemental carnitine available. L-Carnitine and Acetyl L-Carnitine. L should be taken with food for the best absorption. Acetyl can be taken whenever, but works best on an empty stomach or taken with something encouraging your metabolism, i.e. green tea, a pre-workout drink, etc. The Acetyl form is also supposed to be excellent and getting through the blood-brain barrier to give positive supplemental effect to the brain.I took this supplement in the morning 1-2 hours before eating with a pre-workout drink or matcha. My results: I can't tell you too much about the mental effects of Acetyl Carnitine in general or this one--I am still convinced that good sleep and really good hydration has the most effect on getting your mind running at top speed; however, since taking this Acetyl Carnitine I have noticed that it is easier to drop weight. In two weeks of taking it (in combination with 3-4 times per week weight training and cardio (elliptical or swimming (depending on the day)) and a low carb diet, I have put off 9 lbs in two weeks and seen movement on my body fat percentage. Previously with the training and eating less strictly I was moving at a 1-2 lb pace. I expect these are initial gains from a stricter diet that have been increased a bit (maybe 3 lbs worth) by the supplement--I expect that ultimately I will be on a 2-3 lb pace--which will be great and a tremendous boost over the long term by the supplement.Disclaimer: (a) I have the weight to lose--I'm a big guy that's always done a lot of strength training, but ate whatever, and I'm about 50-60 lbs away from a six pack--if you don't have a good amount of weight to lose don't expect to drop a lot quickly (in fact is healthier to lose in the 1-2 lb a week range at most, my goal is to stick close to 2); (b) don't expect some wonder pill that's going to shed lbs for you, my estimate is that this added 20-33% benefit to the effort I put in--it just gives you an edge and it appears to be good at it.

Possible Non-Prescription Help for Peripheral Neuropathy and Peyronie's
Just so you know where I am coming from, let's start with this: I generally think that supplements are a waste of money, and succeed only in three things: 1) the placebo effect in users, 2) producing extremely expensive urine, and 3) making the producers and sellers a bunch of money. However, that does not mean I am going to be stupid about the use of a supplement should I find good evidence that there's a real (not marketing driven) benefit. And in the case of acetyl-L-carnitine (also known as L-acetyl-carnitine) I accidentally stumbled on just that one day, while researching something else entirely. A report from the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) regarding the use of this supplement in controlling peripheral neuropathy. With the advent (and extensive advertising! You know, those ones about the horrible tingling and pain in the feet) of some very expensive prescription drugs for just the same purpose, it appears this could provide many suffering from the same condition a means of controlling it at far less cost, and without need of a prescription, or resorting to relatively new drugs with unknown long-term effects. Here's the link:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2430690/I know, it'll be tl;dr for many, so here's some relevant info from the conclusions at the link:"In this respect, L-acetylcarnitine is a promising compound for the treatment of painful neuropathies for its dual mechanisms, which include a significant analgesic effect after chronic administration and the ability to promote peripheral nerve regeneration and to improve vibration perception. Moreover, the apparent lack of side effects suggests that this drug might be suitable for long term treatment, an important characteristic for a chronic condition such as neuropathic pain. Thus, the data to date suggest that L-acetylcarnitine could be considered for use in neuropathic pain conditions alone or in combination with other treatments. Further large-scale controlled clinical trials are needed to assess the efficacy of L-acetylcarnitine in various neuropathic pain conditions."A further study I found while searching for more information regarding what I learned from the above was that it also appears that acetyl-l-carnitine may help those with Peyronie's disease, a painful condition of the penis, about which you may do your own Googling.Mesomorph Labs' product appears to be the real deal, and from my experience, it also appears that it actually provides relief from the (relatively slight) peripheral neuropathy I experience. I wish I could say something more definitive than that, but frankly, not having a means to properly assay the delivered product, nor to perform a double-blind study, that's the best I can do. (I'd sure like to see vendors of such supplements provide some sort of guaranteed independent assay information about products.) What is a measurable benefit of this particular product is that it provides 120 1500mg (1.5 gram) capsules per bottle. The majority of other instances of the acetyl-L-carnitine I found provide only 120 500mg (one-half gram) capsules per bottle. Do the math: with a suggested dose of 1 to 2 grams per day, that would make most of this product's competitors a hell of a lot more expensive. So Mesomorph Labs definitely deserves credit for providing a more useful dose at a similar price to the much smaller dose provided by competitors. That said, the price of this product appears to be rising awfully rapidly. If memory serves, the first bottle I ordered cost right around $18. My order of two more bottles, made just a few weeks later, came in at about $22 each. Checking just now finds that the price from Mesomorph Labs has jumped again, to $25 per bottle. That's an increase of about a dollar a week since I first ordered. What's up with *that*?So the bottom line: Mesomorph Labs offering of acetyl-L-carnitine is a better deal than most (so far) and appears to work as advertised. That's enough to keep me as a customer.

Updated review
I received the product by the date promised. I have only been taking this product for a couple of days but I notice a big decrease in my appetite and an increase in my energy. I plan to continue taking this product and hope the positive effects last.I received the L-Carnitine from another seller and was very disappointed, capsules were broken and the product was sticky. I don't know if it was due to the capsules being broken or the product was old but there were many capsules that were dried up and hard. I am very happy with Mesomorph Labs, I have used several of their products including the CLA 2000 and would recommend to others, I have more energy, a decreased appetite and an overall feeling of well being. My weight has only fluctuated by a few pounds and considering that it is the holidays and I have had a lot of delicious food and wine, I am happy.
