Great little scale for weighing low-weight items. I plan to use it for prospecting and weighing any gold I may find, but before that I checked the scale to see if it was properly calibrated. They supply a 100 gram weight to calibrate, but it's mass produced and it doesn't come with any sort of traceability to verify it's actually a 100 gram weight. Which is okay, I have my own NIST traceable 100 gram weight which I used to calibrate the scale. I'm happy to say though, the weight they provide is very, very close to being accurate, mine actually weighs 99.98 grams. So, not bad, but not perfect.Calibrating the scale is much easier than I thought, and once it was properly calibrated I played around with it using various known weights. It successfully weighed 2 grams, 10 grams, 50 grams and 100 grams successively. I let the scale power down after about a minute of not using it, turned it back on and went through the weights again, and everything was perfect once more. On day two it ran through the weights perfectly once again, no need to recalibrate the scale. Perfect!So, it's a little ugly with that faux-diamond plate cover, but what it lacks in aesthetics, it makes up for in accuracy and functionality. Color me impressed. Worth every dollar spent, and it definitely has earned a 5-Star rating from me. Disregard the naysayers and detractors, this little scale is amazing!

a very sturdy scale with magnetic cover (four little magnets on the lid keep it securely in place. its very easy to calibrate and comes with its own weight. love the bright display and arrived in about a day 2 days sooner than expected. with the recharble battery via the supplied usb cable what more could you ask for for 16 bucks. it also has one of the higher max weight and is very accurate. would buy again and again

The scales work when I tested them. They calibrated just fine. I love that I can now weigh out my epoxy resins and have accurate readings. I just wish it were made a little better. Feels super light and cheap.

It is accurate, sensitive, and precise. Know the difference? Accuracy is the ability to correctly measure a weight against a known standard. They supply a 100 gram weight and it is dead on. I also tested it with 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 gram standard weights. Perfect! Using coins as standards is a bit problematic as wear, dirt, oxidation will cause detectable differences in mass. Sensitivity is the ability to detect small variations. This scale is accurate to 10 mg or 0.01 gram. You can't do better than this at this price point. Precision is the ability to get the same result measuring the same weight. Again, excellent precision. Bottom line: if you want an inexpensive, well built easy to use, accurate scale, this is what you want. My only ding is that while the included battery is rechargeable with the included USB , it is not accessible or replaceable. Given that, there will come a time when the battery will not recharge and you will need to replace the scale. This should take a few years.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do

We bought this scale because it promised enough precision to estimate the remaining length of a ball of yarn, while having enough working range to allow for the tare weight of a large enough tray and the typical range of weights where asking if enough yarn is left becomes and interesting question.Including an internal rechargeable battery was not a feature I set out to include, but is very nice to have. Worst case I will need to plug it back in to a USB charger if its been stored too long. And there's no need to worry about having stock of whatever obscure size and shape of battery my other scales all eat.Given that accuracy is important, we specifically selected a scale that included a check weight and a calibration feature, as this one does. That allows measurements made to remain consistent over time.Out of curiosity, we carried the provided 100 g calibration mass to an expensive (and calibrated) analytical balance. We were pleasantly surprised to find it measured 99.999 g, or only 0.001% low. That is remarkably good at this price point. As long as we protect it from fingerprints or other contamination that isn't likely to change. It is also about 10 times more accurate than the precision of the scale in typical use, so it is more than accurate enough to serve as a calibration reference.There are $1000 laboratory balances that are only a little better than this, and it is under $20.We are pleased.

For how cheap this scale was, you literally can’t be it. I’m not one for leaving customer reviews lol i usually don’t even read them because trusting advice from a stranger is pretty insane in my opinion. but anyway the accuracy of this scale was actually very good however on mine specifically it has to be calibrated pretty often....and obviously calibrated every single time you turn it on, if you don’t do that you’re def not getting an accurate reading especially if it’s the type that comes with a calib weight. the instructions are simple and they’re right on the back of the lid. it’s very light so easy to carry around and finally , i personally love the aesthetics of it.— M.a.I.c.K.y.E.5

First impressions: easy to use, straight-forward, and seemingly good construction. Item arrived with a charge, allowing me to use straight out of the box. I checked calibration weight on my trusted larger kitchen scale and it came out at exactly 100 g. Then weighed on this scale, 100.00 g dead even. Nice "quick-user guide" included on reverse of cover. Used to make a batch of liquid e-juice with great results. Then used included USB charging cable to charge up scale. Red light to indicate charging, which turned green when fully charged. Great features for this price point. Highly recommend.
