Excellent and veritable!
This is a great book that is one of the best editions of the Key of Solomon out there. Hardcover edition looks great!

It's about time a version like this was puslished.
The Key of Solomon is perhaps THE single grimoire to own. It's a treasure trove of ancient magickal practice. It gives detailed instructions on how Solomon prepared everything from parchment to talismans, to magickal tools. Reading it you can't help but feel as though Solomon is teaching you.I actually think some parts of it give better instruction than some of todays grimoires. Although you'll probally never find the resources to actually practice anything in the book, it is THE must add title to any library of magickal studies.

Great scholarship
As always, this pair of occult scholars have done their homework. The book is full of information, cross referenced with other existing manuscripts, and filled with Goetic information that, up until now, has remained unpublished. Great for the occult scholar, armchair sorcery enthusiast, and historian of magic and literature.

Veritable Key of Solomon
Very well written with numerous references. Excellent scholarly work. I especially enjoyed their introduction. The rest of the book is well laid out and much easier to follow than other Keys out there.

The best bar none!
This is Vol IV of the `Sourceworks of Ceremonial Magic Series` and what a great grimoire to own. The Veritable Key of Solomon is by far the best Key in print, its not only a scholarly work but a work of art with absolutely stunning Talismans which are something to behold. This is a translation of three completely new French texts from 1796 which gives a complete workable system. The Veritable Key of Solomon has it all, a vast amount of Pentacles, Olympic Spirits, Planetary Spirits, Intelligences, Prayers, Names of Angels & Demons, Implements and Procedures etc... This grimoire is very impressive in every sense of the word and comes with a first rate commentary with lots of history. There are quite a varied number of editions, a black and white hardback, a full colour hardback, two different limited edition half leathers in full colour and a full leather edition in colour. When this grimoire arrived on the scene the ground shook, and for a very good reason and is not a text you want to pass on!

Color version made available after I bought this one
I dropped 1 stars because this book has no color key to tell you which pentacles use which colors. There isn't even one made available online! There is a color version available (ISBN: 978-0-9557387-6-0) on the publisher's website for 40.00GBP with free shipping. Missing color aside, this is definitly the new standard version of the Greater Key of Solomon, surpassing all other versions including Sir Macgregor Mathers' 1889 edition. I support the creators of the Sourceworks of Ceremonial Magic Series and look forward to their future releases.

A clean translation, Perfect for any Magician.
The Sourceworks of Ceremonial Magic Series is some of the best work in traditional occult grimoires the student of ceremonial magic will ever find. "The Veritable Key of Solomon" brings together Skinner & Rankine, two accomplished grimoirists and magicians whose dedication shows in this beautiful works. Cleaned up text and better translations taking from multiple manuscripts, footnotes with explanations and references, and most importantly clean and beautiful illustrations that go beyond the typicaly reprinted scans found in most other grimoires. An absolute requirement for any student of classical grimoires.

Mixed up versions and ISBN numbers
The book pictured and received were two completely different versions. The book received is NOT the color version but the old ISBN sticker is placed on a completely different black and white version. This might be a mix up caused by the publisher using wrong stickers on wrong books. There is another listing for the color version on amazon, but according to another reviewer a similar problem might be present on that one as well. Picture and ISBN both denote the updated color version, but that reviewer says he also received the black and white only version. Since the colors in the seals and sigils are relevant to accuracy, you might want to double check to make sure you are receiving the correct version.I will update my review here once the other book show's up, so that everyone knows a clear status on the issue.UPDATE: I did in fact order the other "Full Color" version listed on Amazon under a different ISBN. Unfortunately, the book received was the same colorless black and white only book. Amazon is listing the 1st and 3rd run full color versions of the book, but shipping the 2nd run black only version instead. Both books I received were the identical monochrome books, with different ISBN numbers slapped on the cover. So at this point I don't know if it is Amazon or the publisher causing the problem. Either way I returned both copies, as the price is way too high to be missing such relevant detail.
