This dye is the best one available. My hair is fine and I don't bleach first. I get good gray coverage for about a month, and the dark colors (plum, rubine, etc) leave a reasonable color on my remaining dark hair. There's no added scent to the product, which is a huge reason I use it. With any dyes, but especially direct-deposit (no developer), it's a different experience for everyone. This though is a cheap and easy place to start, and the manufacturer has been in business for 30+ years. Hardest part of the order is navigating Amazon's mess to contact. I have ordered a few times and shipping is good. Jars have leaked a little on one shipment, but that's manufacturer, not seller. There's no secondary seal on the jar, so the air pressure from shipping can do that. Price is way better than anywhere else on amazon or in a beauty store. Jars are small, but manufacturer is increasing size a little, and soon. Price/mL is still one of the least expensive out there. Order multiple in the same color if you have thicker hair.

This is my all time favorite wild colored hair dye. I leave it in for 8 hours or overnight on bleached hair (even if I had bleached it months ago and colored it but it has faded) and my hair color lasts for MONTHS. I only wash it every two weeks and with a gentle shampoo and COOL water. I cannot say enough good things about this dye....love, love, love it.

I have loved Directions for 10yrs. The colors are so very vibrant and if put over prelightened hair, they last a very long time. The darker colors take better and last longer. I will continue to use Directions, and certainly recommend it for vibrant unnatural colors. Also, this 4 pack deal is really a steal and really easy to pick your colors from the seller. You just need to know the exact color name from the color chart.

Very silky dye, went on hair smoothly and covered well. I have between chin and shoulder length hair, was extremely dry from just using a color remover. I needed about 1-1/2 tubs, they are very small! Deep saturated colors I ordered expedited and received order 2 days after emailing seller my colors

2 of the 4 hair dye pots were leaking and dry product was all over the pots and package. Color worked well. The highlighter was absolutely awesome. And my daughter loved the Spring Green. I haven't used the peach but my daughter did and mixed it with some other colors for a cool effect. 😄

Easy to use and store, but I just didn't realize it's so small a box. You would definitely need two boxes at least if you have long hair.

Postage to AUS took much longer than anticipated but everything came as described, intact, with very cute packahing!

I love this hair dye and love that you can choose the colours you want (by contacting the seller). It's good quality and lasts a good amount of time if you treat your hair accordingly.

really good coverage, easy to use, 3 washes in and still going strong I have red hair, naturally, and as any hairdresser will tell you (they kept telling me!) Red hair is an absolute pain to dye. I have recently become disabled and can no longer go to the hair dressers due to nerve damage, and so thought i would try dyeing my hair at home with help from hubby. I have tried Loreal xxl, fudge, and manic panic and they were all disappointing in colour, and in 2 cases just ran all over the shop, staining bedclothes and my clothes but not doing much to my hair. I tried the directions hair dye, bought here on amazon.co.uk from beautifulu2014, not expecting much as the price was so good (£10.38 for 4 pots!), but chose this because of the great selection of colours. I have used the DARK TULIP and PLUM and it was easy to paint on, covered really well, did not drip all over the place, and i am now 3 washes in and the colour is still going strong, even on my naturally dark red hair i do NOT bleach my hair before dyeing, firstly that is an extra faff and secondly, no matter what bleaching product you use, it damages your hair. I did leave it on longer than stated, I left it on for the same time i left the others - 3 hours - and the dye really worked well and the colours are brilliant and deep, and most importantly the colours match the swatches on the picture, without bleaching, so i would highly recommend this product and am looking forward to the other colours i bought. the tubs look small, however I only used about a third of each pot to cover my hair. So if you were using just one colour, not two like me, that would mean 2/3 of a pot to cover my hair. I have short back and sides and long top half of my head, so if you have longer hiar you might need more, but if you buy from the seller I mentioned above you get 4 tubs, of any colours you like, so plenty to cover even really long hair, my husband is 6ft4 and can sit on his hair and I would think 3 tubs would be more than enough to cover his hair, leaving a tub spare for tough ups.

Directions is my go-to for my white hair. It gives amazing results time and time again, and gives my my perfect shade of white that i desire. i’ve tried a couple other white toners, and they ether fade weird, don’t stick, or are patchy. Your hair has to be very very light in order for this color / product to work. I do use chemical toner to lighten my hair to the lightest yellow possible, before using directions conditioner based white toner to get my snow white hair. This seller is extremely helpful, and i have been buying from her for a couple years now. The 4x tub at such a great price in comparison to any other deal for this brand on amazon, and i’m very grateful to have this product in my life. Ps, their Violet dye fades to the most beautiful silver. 10/10 could not recommend more.

I have been using Directions for a few years now and am happy to see it on Amazon. The price was good for 4 jars, I just wish it didn't take a month and a half to receive.

Wunderbare Farbpalette, für alle die experimentierfreudig sind. Allerdings die Haare müssen "beschädigt" sein (blondierung, Dauerwelle) sonst wird das nix, auch bei hellen oder sogar grauen Haar. Die Farbpigmente müssen sich schließlich irgendwo festsetzen^^ Ich hab den pixi cut, da stört es mich nicht blondieren. So ein Tiegel reicht wirklich sehr lange, und wenn man mehrere Farben vermischt, kommen schon ungewohnte Farbkombinationen raus. Die Farbe wäscht sich immer wieder raus, je nach Shampoo mal schneller mal langsamer, aber man erhält dadurch einfach nur hellere Nuance, die immer noch leuchtet. Nicht wie bei traditionellen farbcolorationen wo man nach der 5ten Wäsche eig schonwieder färben müsste.. Um Flecken auf der Haut, Gesicht und besonders Ohren (wer kennt das nicht😂) benutze ich den normalen Olivenöl, alles dünn auftragen, und nachher beim Duschen wird es abgespült. Übrigens: in die Hände auch etwas davon rein, bevor man Handschuhe anzieht. Die besten Effekte hab ich erzielt bei einwirkungszeit von 2 Stunden. Ich mach es auf direkt blondierte Haare (auf keinen Fall conditioner vorher drauf, sonst wird das nüx) oder wenn's die Farbe zu hell wird und man schon Ansätze sieht.. Habe anfangs mit HaarPflegespüllung vermischt, mittlerweile pur aus dem Tiegel. Und sieht toll aus. Besonders die Pink und Rosetöne haben mir angetan: beim rauswaschen bekommt man Rosegoldene Haarfarbe. Übrigens: hab keine Flecken/Verfärbungen in der Dusche entdecken können, weiß nicht wie manch einer es hinkriegt? Mit nassem Haar rumschleudern?😂🙈🙈 tut man es eigentlich nicht.
