Perfect solution for my DOD-LS470W in a 2010 Honda Odyssey van
I bought a DOD TECH DOD-LS470W LS Sony Exmor Powered Full HD Dash Camera with WDR Technology & GPS Logging and loved it, but didn't like the mounting alternatives in my 2010 Honda Odyssey. The suction cup wouldn't stick where I wanted to put it because of a grid on the windshield, and it was in my line of sight where it would work. I didn't want to commit to the adhesive sticker, so I used a beanbag base on my dash, and attached the camera to it with the suction cup. It's didn't "feel" right to me.I went to the vendor's website and thought their mirror mount might be perfect. The only problem was that it was $30 or so, and it wouldn't ship for one to two months. An Amazon search to me to this product, which appeared to be nearly the same thing as the vendor was selling, and "if you order within 2 minutes," you could have it tomorrow. It was also about a third the cost of the OEM.I pushed the BUY button, never dreaming that it would actually be delivered in Swampeast Missouri the next day. Indeed, it DID show up as promised. The mount came with attachments for just about anything you could imagine, including a 1/4x20 bolt. A video I watched was correct: you want to lay everything out in advance so you don't get confused. It's pretty simple to dope out once you figure out which base fits your camera. The only thing that didn't come with the product was a third hand to help you fit it, a silicone spacer and two long screws with wingnuts around the mirror. I managed to drop the bleeping wingnut four times, and was surprised that it didn't bounce somewhere in the bowels of my van, but all finally went well.I had a moment of panic when I couldn't get my mirror to adjust right, but I loosened the wingnuts, slid the camera mount a minuscule closer to the windshield and locked it down again. This time, I got normal range of motion of the mirror. The camera is rock-solid and hardly noticeable after the first few miles. It's not very visible from the outside of the car, and it's not going to fall in my lap. I don't give many products five stars, but this one is worth it. Good price and good solution. For the record, I paid full price for it, so my opinion is more than unbiased.UPDATE: the mount is approaching two years of rock-solid use. It's one of those things that was truly install and forget. I haven't had to change a single thing about it since the original installation.

Great inexpensive alternative to troublesome suction mounts
Having had a number of mounts break over the years, compared to the cost for the "universal" suction-type replacements I have tried with limited success, not to mention the hassle of having to reattach a suction mount to the windshield from time to time, this is a great solution. For those who complain about the material quality: dude, get real; it cost twelve bucks! You're not going to get something made of aircraft grade aluminum or carbon fiber. In fact, all of the plastic pieces are sturdy. For those who complain that you can't hide the camera out of sight behind the mirror, first off, pretty much every camera has a screen saver mode that turns off the display after a specified period. But I guess that would require reading the camera instructions, wouldn't it? And, anyway, the mount has multiple possible configurations if you take the time to look. I have no problem putting mine completely behind the mirror if desired - though I usually don't because I prefer having easy access to the various camera menu controls. For those who complain that none of the supplied adapters fit their camera, the ad states the system will fit most. While that might be a stretch as-is out of the box, nowhere does it state the product will fit all cameras, though I believe with the least but of ingenuity it would be suitable for the vast majority. In fact, none of the supplied adapters fit my camera exactly, either, but it didn't take five seconds to recognize that all I had to do was use the original ball mount part of the suction adapter that came with the camera, with the rest of the mirror mount. Another fifteen seconds to make it happen, and I was in business. Most balls are close enough to the same size that this should work with just about any camera. Even if not, there are so many adapters to choose from in the kit I am confident many other solutions are available by using the slightest imagination - though that does seem to be in short supply if some of the negative reviews are any indication. Someone even complained about the number of pieces in the kit! For heavens sake, that's what makes the product nearly-universal and had the reviewers complaining about that bothered to read the ad, they would have known that to begin with. But to complain because they are given as many options as possible? Seriously? If I am coming off as snarky or overly effusive in my defense of the product it is because it never ceases to amaze me what people seem to expect, and will complain about, for an item that is so inexpensive to start with. Indeed, this is only the second product review I have ever written but figured it was deserved in this instance.

If you have the 3" APEMAN (dual) camera...
I bought this because the suction attachment that came with my dashcam does not work due to the bumpy dot pattern that's part of the tint line area on the windshield (prevents suction). There are 2 brackets for this type of camera in the kit. The less wide one fits snugly side to side on the attachment; however the "arms" are slightly too short to allow for the attachment screw to go all the way through without having to be bent (holes don't completely line up. The wider bracket leaves a lot of open space for camera to slide around (which makes it unusable since it's not steady/fixed). Bought another kit from different company - same issue. THE FIX FOR THIS: go to the local hardware store and get a screw that's 6mm by at least 2" long, a nut, and several washers (I think I used 10-11 washers). I placed the camera mounting against the side of the bracket that has the ridging for added stability when adjusting angle, then filled the remaining space with the washers and tightened it all down with the nut. Not the prettiest, but stable and functional. **Note for picture: I have not hooked up rear camera yet so it is missing a cable between mounting bracket and power supply cable in the picture... the screw will get in way if not mounted in this fashion (1.5" screw is too short).
