API SALTWATER MASTER TEST KIT 550-Test Saltwater Aquarium Water Test Kit

This product works exactly as described. As a marine hobbyist, I highly recommend a digital pH meter, but this works when I'm not in a rush and want to get relatively accurate tank parameters. It has kept my tank stable for quite some time now and I have zero complaints with the usability of the product as a whole. It's pretty easy, just read the directions, follow them to a T, and you should have pretty accurate results every time. I've read that people have issues matching the vile color to the color charts, but I don't have any issues with that, generally the colors are pretty spot on or are between two different colors. The bottom line is that if you're hitting unsafe parameters anyway, the exact color match isn't going to help you either way-- too high is too high regardless of an exact match in color. Any time my levels get anywhere near where they aren't supposed to be, I immediately treat my tank as needed (water change, etc), which is what all hobbyist should be doing anyway.

Great test kit for my Helloreef salt water aquarium

This is a VERY easy testing kit. The chemicals that arrived had an expiration date of 2018 so ample time to use the product. Comes with 4 test tubes, easy color chart for reviewing test results, and a nice (but flimsy) storage box to store everything when it's done. The test instructions are the only thing I would change. The directions are simple enough, just they are in a booklet with several other languages made of plain paper. It works but I can see the book not lasting very long since these are water tests and accidents do happen. I already have a few wet fingerprints in it from getting the water out of my aquarium and browsing through the book. They should be laminated like the color charts, perhaps a card for each test. No big deal but certainly an improvement. I would recommend this to anyone though as it is a bargain and the test kit is great.

Work pretty well, not always the most accurate but if you know basically what you're looking for these work great. They don't always measure traces correctly, but traces don't mean much. Fast easy and gives you a good idea of tank water condition.

Great price, great kit, no real complaints. I recently started up a saltwater tank and was curious as to whether or not I would need a separate Test Kit because of the different tank type. After scouring the internet, I couldn't find a really great response, so I went ahead and purchased this test kit for my Biocube tank. It works exactly as expected. However, I did find out later that the API kits for freshwater and saltwater actually contain the same chemicals for testing, the only thing that varies slightly are what the colors mean. In summary, the color cards are the only difference. So...if you have a freshwater kit already, there's really no need to purchase this kit...just find a scan of the color card online. My order arrived sooner than promised and in perfect condition. I know some have complained about receiving test solutions that were out of date but I have to say, my kit arrived with experiation dates of 05-18, that's 5 years from now, you can't beat that. The list only flaw is that it doesn't include an alkalinity, calcium or phosphate tests, I guess I can purchase those separately. The test includes 4 test tubes, a holder, easy instructions, a great color guide to compare to for test results and enough solutions to probably last you at least till the expiration date. This kit is well worth the money paid for it and I would recommend this kit to anybody. I also forgot to mention that some kits you have to use a powder but the liquid test kits like this one are very easy and quick to use.

These are relatively easy to use and accurate. They are the same tests my LFS uses and my tank maintenance person uses. It is a great value for the money and a good accurate test kit for the average aquarium owner. My LFS still does testing once a month to ensure accuracy but this helps to catch anything going south with the tank in between maintenance visits.

Intermediate Level: Advanced Semi. In my experience with reef aquariums: API product does the job very well. It is clear that for the price it offers: you can take good care of your aquarium water levels. It's easy, quick, simple and safe. As illustrated in the picture. I'll be buying another Kits for sure I get all the values​​. There are other different brands and many more costly: many talk and complain about leaving their criticism: I assure you that the levels (PPM) 99.99% are in safe and stable. with their values​​. Seachem: Very expensive and you buy the other kits. SERA: do not work very well. NUTRAFIN: very good, but the cost is very high. (this does the same as an API). RED SEA: They are not very reliable. (Be careful). Important: Before you open your package check the expiration date. API Recommended, excellent.

Worth the money spent on it.

A must for aquarium and biofloc maintenance. Please mind that this kit is salt water or high ph kit, hence you will receive only high ph testing reagent. If you require low ph testing reagent, then go for fresh water testing kit. Although high range ph testing provide you with results from 7 and higher ph, which is enough to serve the purpose of aquarium and biofloc (since 7-8 ph is necessary to maintain). Overall good product.
