Resistance: Burning Skies

Let me start by this this game has gotten bad reviews and then each reviewer jumped on the band Wagon bashing this game, similar to the first assassins creed which was revolutionary. At any case comparing this to any portable shooter ipad, d's 3ds etc this game blows it out of the water. The campaign is decently long at 6-8 hours with a full multilayer game with 6 maps. It is great to play portable with twin analog sticks and the game moves fast the controls were also well thought out double tapping rear screen works great for running as does touching screen for grenades to throw where you want. The enemies also have good ai and it's an original game and launch type game. The 3ds had no good games at its launch nevermind being in hd with online or wih dual analog sticks. Anyway I very much enjoy it and don't believe the scores it has gotten especially when it runs smooth with good controls. Yes the environments And originality isn't amazing but it's not made by insomniac, I remember uncharted vita was criticized as well yet I believe that to also be an amazing game. My advice is play through the demo a few times and judge for yourself.

Really enjoyed this game. Read the reviews before buying and thought what the hell I'll give it a shot. This turned out to be the most FUN game I've played yet for the Vita. I personally thought the controls worked very well, game ran smooth, and I liked how you can touch areas on the screen where you wanted to launch/throw grenades. Weapons customization was great and was fun to see how the weapons changed as you upgraded. I do agree with one reviewer saying some aspects of this game require a learning curve but once you get it down you realize everything just works well. The game can get difficult on some levels but all in all the levels were a lot of fun, graphics great (for a handheld) , and once again controls just worked really well. This game really shows that the Vita is ready for FPS. Its been a while since I had this much fun playing a game if you like FPS and own a Vita def pick this up. For me it was fun, exciting, and intense. And contrary to other reviews the story wasn't too bad give me a break its a handheld game not a hollywood movie production. 5 stars from me all the way.

I have been a huge fan of the Resistance series since it launched on PS3. This game did a great job of reminding me of those game, but not in a good way. As I played this I was reminded how good the others were, especially the first two, and how this one paled in comparison.I'll quickly list off some issues I have with the campaign:-Boring story. I found the story quite boring and predictable.-Boring Guns. Most of them are the same as past games, or slightly tweaked versions of them.-Enemy AI is terrible. Even on harder difficulties the AI is very dumb, making the game incredibly easy.As far as the online multiplayer goes I can't say much about it. I only got into 3 or 4 games because the matching making doesn't seem to work properly.If I could I would give this game 2.5 stars, but I rounded up because I love the Resistance series.If you are a big fan if the Resistance series I might recommend it. Otherwise, stay away.

The single player is a ton of fun, especially if you're a fan of the series. The multiplayer is sometimes great, but sometimes unbalanced. Even still, I think it's worth buying for the multiplayer alone but the single player makes this a game you definitely want to add to your collection.Also, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RESISTANCE RETRIBUTION. It's a PSP game but you CAN play it on the Vita. It is one of my favorite games of all time. The single player is epic and not just for a portable game, it's better than most single players for home consoles as well. The story is amazing, the voice acting is top notch, it's funny as hell at times but also offers an extremely interesting plot. It's near perfect length and pacing (takes me about 12 hours to beat, but never at all boring).The multiplayer is amazing fun as well. It's graphics are also amazing for a PSP game. In my opinion, it's the best game on any handheld. Only $15 off PS Store

First of all, let me specify that I am a gamer with only free time here and there for playing games. I work and take care of personal business before anything else . In return, that gives me limited time for gaming. Now, for my review. I snagged a copy of this game for pretty cheap. I had already played the campaign through renting from Gamefly. But, I wanted to play the online portion as well. The campaign is really short. I was able to blow through it in like 4-5 days when I rented it. Story is pretty generic and not very fulfilling. But, I have also played worse games. Unlocking trophies is terribly easy and Platinum is practically given away for this game. The online multi player is also extremely short and not very fulfilling. I have played for almost a month and I am already a level 33 and level 40 is the cap. By the time I hit level 40, I will have also unlocked all weapons and upgrades using experience points. One month to play online is pretty short for me. After I hit level 40, it will be a matter of playing for fun. Also, there are only 5-6 maps to play and 3 modes with encompass Team Deathmatch, Free For All and a Survival mode. If you are the humans, the goal is to not get killed. If you are the Chimera, the goal is to kill all the humans. Maps are very generic and were not thought out very well.Overall, I like the Resistance series. I enjoyed this game for the short amount of time it lasted. But, it has no long term impact. If you are looking for a killer online multi player for the Vita, stick with Killzone Mercenary. Resistance Burning Skies is a great game to kill some time, get through completely and move on.
