Good speakers
Good speakers, good quality worth the extra £.Though for whoever intends to upgrade their sound system in any car/van bear in mind that these speakers kicking out a 60Wrms / 180W peak . They indeed require a good stereo or a good amplifier to get the best out of them.Personally I’ve replaced them on a Renault master 66 plates and because of the cheap stereo they have NO BASS . The sound is clear, better sound. Though no bass. But again not the speakers fault but the stereo’s amplifier being very weak.At this point Instead of replacing the speakers would be cheaper, simpler , quicker to just add to your existing system a small under seat subwoofer and game on.

JBL Club 622 2-Way Car Audio Set
I fitted these in the parcel shelf of my classic Mini and they sound great, even better after messing around with the equaliser to get it sounding perfect. A lot of bass for 6.5” speakers. Highly recommend these for the price!

Good choice and better than entry level speakers
The first thing worthy of mention is the rather poor location of the terminal base. It is in the same 7 o'clock position for both speakers so it is possible that one side the wires need to be extended. The other thing is the position of the block may need the speaker enclosure to be enlarged greater than the magnet diameter. The other negative is I found the multi fitment base to be of no use so instead I got a spacer from Connects2.Functionally the sound quality is good. I'm still adjusting the settings to get what I find the best setting for the varied music I listen to. I chose these speakers as online checking revealed them to have noticeably good base response which is where 16.5cm speakers struggle. I didn't want to have to install a sub or underseat active sub and I think these are good enough without. I compared these with Pioneer TS-G1746 speakers (older with bronze coloured cone 2 way ones) in another car and without a doubt, the JBL 622 Club speakers are better. The bass is richer and deeper yet the overall sound is more balanced. They also have a nice crisp treble without being harsh which hard dome tweeters tend to do.I ran a test using a YouTube speaker test to see how they performed against my Sony XB50 earbuds, Soundcore Motion + Bluetooth speaker and my LG sound bar. I didn't expect the JBL speakers to start producing bass lower and the rest. It was 40Hz when proper bass became audible. The other surprise was at the high end, my hearing finally lost the sound at 18.5kHz. That was higher than the others also and through my Samsung Galaxy phone, treble became inaudible to me at 12.5kHz. Obviously that does not represent how much volume loss there is at each extreme but I have been able to hear frequencies in music I haven't heard before.I'm sure that £300 or so 16.5cm speakers will be superior to these by having an even more level sound image but these JBL speakers certainly narrow the gap in respect of what well mounted 6x9 speakers sound like. I make that comparison because the 6x9 Kenwood speakers I had before were regarded by others to be driven by a separate amplifier. Therefore, the point I wish to make is the 622 speakers should be a decent choice for someone who cannot use larger speakers or who doesn't wish to add complexity with extra amps or a sub and also keep costs reasonable. As such, I find they offer a pleasing sound for a modified factory speaker location being run from a 4x50w Kenwood head unit.

Great Bass
Installed these into a 2018 VW Polo AW, and the sound produced is really good with the stock stereo. The bass is strong and doesn't sound distorted at high volumes.
